The hotel itself is very pleasant, rooms are large, it is very clean and well-maintained. Located in a quiet area of the community. Floors are tile everywhere, so it can be a bit noisy in the halls - best to ask for a room at the end of a hallway. Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing - I suggest you plan to eat elsewhere in the village, there are lots of restaurant choices available.

We stayed in the Rio late May. The Hotel and bedroom facilities are immaculately clean and comfortable but a little dated. Bedroom was spacious, with comfortable beds and a nice balcony overlooking the sea. Bathroom facilities were fine with a great power shower. The team managing the Hotel were absolutely delightful and helpful in any way possible. The Hotel backs onto a beautiful private beach with facilities for the guests. The weather was poor whilst we were there but we still managed lovely walks into Vasto Marina which is well served with restaurants and bars. A twenty minute walk uphill takes you to the beautiful old town of Vasto. We loved the Rio which is extremely competitively priced. We hope to visit Vasto again and stay at the Rio

Room had a beautiful view of the beach! As it was low season we practically had the place to ourselves... can’t imagine how great it would be in the summer! Staff was very accommodating and we were even sent on our way with a delicious bottle of the local wine! We will definitely be back!

+Right on the beach, calm and beautiful setting with private beach and your own personal beach chairs and beach umbrellas provided by the hotel. +Good food both for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although very Italian so be prepared for white bread and sweets for breakfast and primo, secundi and dolce for dinner. You will not go hungry ;) +Fantastic café at the hotel with great expresso and cappuccino for 1-1,5€ and ice-cream for the kids.. +Free parking on site. +Friendly staff and several in reception speaks good english. What could be better. The rooms could be more spacious for a family of 4 and a bit more modern. But they where clean and functional. It was also a bit of noice in the room as it was rather easy to overhear neighbouring rooms and people passing in the corridor. So my recommendation is to ask for a room in the end of the corridor. If the breakfast had some cooked eggs or some wholegrain bread and fruits it would be a 5 star breakfast. We would absolutely go back if we visit the region again. And Nicola (the owner) with his staff where all fantastic.

We stayed here for two nights in September. The room was spacious with a balcony where you could see the sea. Continental breakfast is included. There is a bar and large terrace outside. It's a pleasant two minute walk to the beach through the back of the hotel. Sunbeds and an umbrella are included free of charge. Wi-fi and parking are free. It's an ideal spot to stay as it's not far from the town of Vasto or other seaside restaurants/bars. There is a disco next door which wasn't open during our visit - probably mainly in the latter months of the year. The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay there. Just one note - there are two floors but no lift but that wasn't a problem for us.

This was our first visit to the hotel Rio and the city of vasto. Having stayed in 5 star rated hotels in Italy that actually did not live up to their rating we were slightly anxious in coming to stay in a 3 star. We have to say this hotel exceeded our expectations and it deserves to be rated higher. On arrival we were greeted very warmly and made to feel right at home. Reception were so friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. The rooms and the hotel are spotless and all staff are friendly. Our trip has been wonderful. And we would like to thank the management. Will certainly be returning again.
