We stayed at this hotel from July 23-27th. The staff are welcoming, the front desk managers are very helpful. They suggested us the trip to Capri, Positano, and Amafi. The pool is clean and well taken care off. The breakfast is delicious and rooms are clean. We had a magnificent view from our terrace. Will be coming back! We really enjoyed our stay.
Very nice place in the middle of vico. Everything is close and the hotel is very nice. Parking in the small basement, but they find room for the car. Good breakfast, ask for the omelet they serve dinner as well, and it is also good like many of the restaurants close by
It’s the beautiful location, it’s the lovely and helpful people, it’s the excellent service, the amazing pool and it’s the great food. In fact, there’s nothing wrong to mention about this Aequa Hotel, except from the fact that we should have stayed longer. This is what holidays’s about: getting rest in a great relaxing atmosphere, with people around you that take their job serious. In a little iddilic dream village with top Italian restaurants, also in Aequa, beautiful old churches and buildings and easy public transport to Pompei and Napoli. One of those places I’ll for sure will come back!!
Thanks to Agostino and the rest of the staff for a lovely stay at the Aequa Hotel! The hotel has a very good atmosphere, a nice pool area and a wonderful view. The location is good for exploring the area around Naples as well as the Amalfi Coast. We hope to come back soon!
The Hotel Aequa is situated in the small charming town of Vico Equense on the Sorrento Peninsular. Its location high above the sea gives amazing views over the Bay of Naples to the brooding cone of Mount Vesuvius. This family-run hotel is always welcoming and quickly makes guests feel at home. It has a large tranquil garden with a sun-soaked outdoor pool and a fine patio overlooking the sea and shaded by an enormous wisteria. Rooms are light and comfortable and kept scrupulously clean; the dining rooms are elegant and spacious, the menu extensive and the food excellent. Guests are very well served by the friendly and efficient staff who go out of their way to be helpful. An added attraction is the nearby Circumvesuviana railway that runs fro Naples to Sorrento. From the station, a four minute walk from the hotel, you can be in Sorrento in 15 minutes. Heading in the other direction it is 11 minutes to Castellammare, where you can take the cable-car to Monte Faito, 25 minutes to Pompei, 45 minutes to Herculaneum and about one hour to Naples itself. I have stayed in many hotels in this region; none have been better than the Hotel Aequa,…
With our two children, we arrived for a 5 night break during the school mid-term. We cannot recommend this hotel enough. We booked a family room that was recently renovated. It was equipped with a separate room for the children and spacious bathroom, with an excellent shower. The view from our room was breathtaking looking over the bay and Naples. The location of the hotel is perfect. Vico Equense is a very pretty town with a choice of restaurants and just 10 mins by train to Sorrento, Pompeii is about 25 mins. It was perfect for a family as it was less busy but felt safe and with plenty of character. The hotel itself is kept spotlessly clean but it’s the staff that make it exceptional. Very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Always willing to help and give advice. We will definitely return, everyone had an amazing holiday. Cannot thank Agostino and the team enough.…
We had the superior double room on the top floor which had two small double beds, the room was slightly dated in appearance, traditional i guess. The sea view was spectacular, overlooking the Bay of Naples, Mt Vesuvius, Pompei and the sea. I mean i would pay just to have that view. The hotel staff are a real asset and extremely helpful The continental breakfast was good cheese, ham, bread, fruit, juice, coffee etc). The seating area for breakfast is amazing, covered by beautiful creeping trees and again the view of sea and Mt Vesuvius. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Vico Equense train station which gets you to Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi coast for very little €2.00 a trip. For instance to get to get to Positanto, walk to station, hop on circumvensa €2 to Sorrento (10 minutes), get off train walk down the stairs and exit of station and to your right get a SITA bus to Positano or Amalfi €2 one way.We had a three year old and manged to visit pretty much the entire Amalfi coast for next to nothing. Its an exceptional base for traveling the Amalfi. Vico Equense is an authentic Italian town with very little tourists, mainly Italians holiday in the beautiful village. There are restaurants and bars a stone throw away from the hotel at the Piazza Umberto (out the hotel turn right, about 30 seconds), with the best restaurant directly opposite Titos. The beach (which is not that great) is a 15 minute walk (be prepared for a steep decline and incline on return). Left out of hotel 2 minutes walk turn left and the decent begins. I suggest the bus, again from train station to and from beach. Personally I'd go to Positano for the beaches. The pool was our favourite place, sun loungers always available, none of this towel placement business by guests. Its a great size, with lunch service to the poolside. We had a superb time and will miss it very much…
Just back from a lovely break in Vico Equense. We stayed in Hotel Aequa and it was excellent. It was very well run and the staff were very polite and friendly. The location is ideal, in the middle of a lovely town. It is only a 2 minute walk to the train station, where you can explore the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. We are very much looking forward to our return to this great hotel.
Great hotel. wonderful staff who were helpful and gave us a great time on the music night. Interesting and great food; Wasn't just the usual buffet. I was very late one meal and they still managed to serve me a meal which was just right. Lovely, large bathroom, I appreciated. Very attractive hotel in lovely little town.
Fantastic hotel and staff! Beautiful view, garden, terrace to sit out and enjoy the lovely weather. We went as a school group, staff was ever so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet with lots of choices. Great location to explore the area.
