As luck would have it, we were given a room overlooking an unkempt yard. However the view from the Terrace was incredible: Commanding vista of an outdoor swimming pool, the valley and the Tuscan Hills beyond. The Hall, the dinning room / food / service and other amenities were excellent. Volterra, a medieval town, was only ten minutes walk up...

Great hotel, good location good room’s, food excellent and staff were first rate. The only criticism we had was that the rooms needed to be better sound proofed and quite often we could hear the TV and conversations in the adjoining rooms. The tiled floors and corridors amplified the sound. On one night entertainment was put on, a man with...

Having read some of the negative responses, and as we had highly recommended the hotel to our friends, who were travelling with us, we were apprehensive as to whether it had really changed since our visit 6 years ago. However, we were not disappointed. We telephoned the hotel to make our own bookings and having been there before, we specifically...

Stayed here for 2 nights on A cycling holiday in Tuscany. We had upgraded to a suite which was really only a big room - no full length mirror, no robes, shame the balcony faced the side and back of the hotel and was not very wide. The food was good and service at dinner good. Breakfast was good with...

Stayed here as part of a package, touring Italy. If you feel like walking into Volterra (well worth a visit) then be prepared for a 10/15 minute drag uphill. However there is a bus for 1euro. Our room was overlooking the carpark so ask for a room looking over the pool and the lovely views. The bedroom was spacious and...

After a long day of driving up the long curvy road, you reach the City of Volterra. This historic place right out of a movie brings you back in time. This hotel was just what we needed to relax for the night. Check In was quick, simple and we got our room and information about the hotel for the young...

We came here as part of an organised tour. We were lucky enought to be upgraded to the Junior Suite on top floor. Fantastic. Lovely decor. Very well kept clean all over , especially the swimming pool. Lovely views. Quiet location. The restaurant is lovely to sit outside and the food is nice but quite expensive. (Cheaper tourist menu was...

Stayed in this hotel as part of a package tour of Tuscany. The staff spoke & understood English ( for us ) but also other languages. The food (& drinks) were on the expensive side but tasted very good -it was a 4 star hotel. . Lunch was very good value. The rooms were very clean and well furnished. Some...

Liked the place. Friendly staff. good pool. Bit of a trek to the town, though. Make sure you get a room at the "front" rather then the back. Few rooms overlooking the back but our upgraded room over looked the road at the back. When moved to the front - fantastico! Though I think there are very few rooms that...
