We stayed at Villa Rioddi for 4 nights in mid May and chose this place as a result of reading the reviews. Luca - pictured giving tourist info at breakfast is excellent. Views as shown. I was the first person to use this pool (cold!) this season.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!! The hosts were wonderful and gave great tips for things to do/restaurants to try. The villa and the views were exquisite. We were very comfortable in our room and everything was very clean. The breakfast was amazing with lots of homemade treats! We loved how the host explained everything and had something new to... I spent literal hours deciding which Tuscan village we would stay in. Several "authorities" had recommended Volterra over San Gigimnano,Siena - but we loved our choice. "San G" as it's referred to would have been our second choice. This is truly a family run hotel by grandmother, son, his girlfriend and their cute-as-a-button daughter. And they run it well! As... Not easy to find and you need a car but amazing family-owned spot that is perfect to explore the Volterra area. The owner, Luca, and his wife and mother make you feel so at home. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Italy with locally made salumi and homemade breads and cakes. They'll even make your eggs to... More

We had a wonderful two night stay. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, and enable us to take advantage of the pool or free mountain bike rentals. The family owners were most helpful regarding local villages and towns to visit. Colle, Certaldo and San Gimignano provided a great day out. Breakfast was great with several additional treats provided by the... More

This is a lovely place with a stunning view as others have noted. Breakfast was a feast - hot eggs cooked to order! Nice young family runs it. But: the rooms we were assigned, although spacious with that full view, we had terrible time getting the doors to open. Our friends managed to master the push-pull / wiggle the key... More

My wife and I just returned from a wonderful 3 days at Villa Rioddi, a 5 minute drive down the hill from Volterra (be aware that the walk up to Volterra is very steep and much of it along a road with no sidewalks). The pictures are entirely accurate, as the lovely Tuscan landscape falls away to the west from... More

Luca and staff have created a beautiful place to stay while in Volterra and if visiting Tuscany! Very accommodating with choice of pillows and extra mattress foam for 2nd bed. Great breakfast buffet, something for everone, from cappuccino to tea, fresh and sautéed veggies, boiled eggs or frittata, fresh fruits and sweet pastries. Great location for catching the setting sun!

Marvellous position, down a lane off the road which leads up to Volterra. The owners were really friendly and very helpful with great tips about the town and other places to visit. The breakfast was delicious with home-made dishes and cakes, fruit from the garden and local products such as prosciutto and salami.

What a wonderful stay to explore this area of Tuscany. The Villa was perftect in every way. Great location to get into Volterra, the sea, the mountains, Siena. Fabulous eating establishments in this are. Our Vila, with Lucca, his mother and wife, at our service, could not have met our needs better. Breakfast, with fresh baked goods everyday, fruit, yogurt,... More
