We booked this hotel after reading the reviews. We also booked a table at the restaurant, mostly because my travel companion was a food writer. We had two small dogs with us and had to,d thenhotel and paid extra them when we arrived it was clear the room was completely unsuitable. It was tiny and facing the public area, bar...

We had the opportunity to stay here- and were lucky enough to be able to eat at the fabulous restaurant! The room was small- but fine- and it was just fun to be on a boat. I tend to get seasick so I did take dramamine- but was fine. It's a little noisy from the creaking of the dock/boat but...

My husband described this as camping with a nice bathroom. All I wanted was a bathrobe. I thought it was overpriced for off-season. We arrived after check in hours closed and they called me to say they would leave the key in the mailbox, which was fine. We found our room ok. The note with the key said there would...

We took a trip to Salt & Sill an october weekend. No expectations in advance, and with the purpose to have time to talk to our best friends and chill. We spent most of the time sitting in the sofa's discussing and only took breaks for dinner and breakfast. A perfect place to visit during autumn: most of the staff...

We had seen this place featured on a tv show, and when we were planning a trip to Sweden we decided to include it in our itinerary, and we were not disappointed. It's a unique experience, with the floating hotel rooms and the world-class restaurant. After arrival, we sat in the roof-top outdoor lounge area to enjoy the "welcome" half-bottle...

The idea of a floating hotel seemed intriguing enough to warrant a stop along the Bohuslan coast. We had room #1, but it seems every room has its own view. The odd numbers face the deck of the restaurant and in many ways offer the best view. The even rooms may be quieter and offer their own swimming docks, though...

I have NO words for "what a place!!!" Had a couple days at the most beautiful place in Klädesholmen, Bohuslän in Sweden - and once more, the swedes didn't let us down - no way!!! There're few things that isn't possible any place in the world - and that is Sweden. With the scrupulous, tidy, smiling, friendly, cleanliness, good food/drink...

We just returned after two nights at this property. The location is amazing and the views stunning. Like most Swedish hotels, the rooms are super tiny. Sadly, if the weather is as amazing as we've been fortunate to experience, the rooms quickly heat up to uncomfortable levels, and it's almost impossible to cool doe unless you open the door and...

The Salt & Sill is nicely situated at a quiet sea side location on Klädesholmen - if you get a room with ocean view, the view from the window is spectacular, and you are gently cradled into your dreams by the waves (the rooms are placed on a swimming structure that sways up and down with the waves). So far...

Not your everyday boat hotel, Salt & Sill (Salt & Herring) combines an excellent restaurant with accommodations on a floating pier/boat. The rooms are small (don't even dream of coming with two large suitcases) but commodious and comfortable. The restaurant is the destination, serving some of the finest herring in the country. Excellent, friendly service and delicious food. Like everywhere...

“Ask for a room that faces the water side and not the 'dock side'. If you ask for a sea/ground level room you will have your own step ladder into the water, if you have a room on the first floor you will have a balcony - all a matter of choice. There is a little food shop, ICA, on the island where you can buy stuff, if you want some sweets, chocolates or specifics.”
