Me and a friend stopped here on a two day walk and we loved it. We had a lovely welcome (yes you follow a sign to the property across the road, in my mind that's fine, means the owners are doing their own thing, you can get on and relax). Inside the decor matches the style of the property, very...

We stayed in a self contained annex over the road from the cottage. We had a decent sized room and bathroom. It had wifi and the water pressure was awesome! It is a period building with low doorways in places. It has a kitchen which we didn't use and a cosy living room. We ate breakfast over the road which...

I stayed at Moonlight Cottage whilst walking along the South Downs Way, it was convenient as it was only a relatively short detour from the route. We arrived having been given good directions from the path by Sue. Walking into the front garden we knocked and hearing no reply walked around to the back door to find a note directing...

Hello Well an almost identical review to the previous one from Martin. Hardly surprising as you travelled with him. I will make similar comments in reply. Thank you for your review. Whilst I try not to take comments personally, it is very hard not to. As always I find it disappointing that you couldn't share your views and obvious unhappiness...

We arrived to confusing signage telling us to go round the back, then from the back to go over the road to another part of their accommodation and then we were barked at by the dogs for a while until our host arrived. Another couple who arrived later were knocking on the door and we had to tell them where...

Hello Martin, Thank you for your review. Whilst I try not to take comments personally, it is very hard not to. As always I find it disappointing that you couldn't share your views and obvious unhappiness with our home/b&b to my face and when I could have offered you alternative rooms if you were unhappy with those allocated. In fact...

A friend and I cycled the South Downs Way last week and stayed in this B&B on our first night. It is conveniently situated if you're doing the route in three days and is on a km or so north of the track. There are several rooms that can be booked and there is a residents' lounge which is a...

Situation close to the South Downs Way and within easy reach of Goodwood. Sue and Steve are excellent hosts going above and beyond to help guests. Love the breakfasts. The rooms are beautifully presented and the additional accommodation in the Malthouse opposite a delightful period house. Sitting in the tearoom window is great for 'petrol heads' to spot cars heading...

Thank you for your lovely comments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The 'roadside' seating is always popular, especially during Goodwood events!

Really surprised at all the 4 and 5 star ratings and raving reviews about this B&B. It was Ok, nothing wrong with it, but rather average, and certainly overpriced for what was on offer compared to other places we have stayed at. There was no shampoo in the bathroom for instance, just a bottle of non-descript body wash. The breakfast...

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are, however, a little perplexed by the review and comments you make which have caused us to question if you might have muddled our b&b with another one you stayed in during your walk along the South Downs Way. The reason for this is that as you point out...

The Moonlight Cottage is an excellent friendly place to stay after a long walk on the Downs. We enjoyed the superb breakfast; the muesli and fruit options were especially generous. Room very comfortable with free wi-fi. Super shower in the shared bathroom. Quiet at night. Gorgeous scenery all around.

A friend and I have been stopping here one night a year one our annual South Downs Way bike ride since 2009. A great little place tucked away just off the SDW with everything that one could ask. comfortable beds, warm showers, clean towels etc etc. Sue and Steve are very polite and have always greeted us when we arrived....
