“El Pirineo” Hostel/Restaurant is located in the village of Confrides (303 inhabitants), one of the highest villages in the province of Alicante (with an altitude of 785m over the sea level). Its privileged location, at the top of the Guadalest Valley and on the edge of the region between La Marina Baixa and the shire of the Comtat, make “El Pirineo” an ideal place that holds many possibilities for both hikers and for people who want to escape from the city just to enjoy nature. Some of the activities that we recommend are: hiking to the Font de l’Arbre (1300 m altitude) and to the Font de Forata (1400 m altitude) (Sierra de Aitana), to the Little Castle of Confrides (1000 m altitude.) In the Sierra de Serrella there are very beautiful areas with wonderful views (Pla de la casa, 1350 m altitude).

Stayed here for one night on a point to point walking holiday and it was one of the better hotels on the route. Very friendly welcome from Rafa, excellent and very clean room. After walking 20 kms in the heat we enjoyed some bread and cheese with a couple of beers and had a great afternoon. Dinner was superb with great service but slightly let down by a poor breakfast. overall very enjoyable stay.

Friendly owner. Would I stay here again, yes I would. A little bit remote for us though, Confrides is a bit like a graveyard with street lights nobody about and this was a Saturday night. Think most people who stay are bikers or walkers and only want a bed for a night. Food in restaurant was not to bad. We do cook very good food at home so our expectations are very high. The home made croquettes were very good and would definitely have them again, however the lamb cutlets were not the best, ok but have had better, perhaps we should have asked them to cook them a bit more so guess we were at fault. Views are spectacular and drive up fantastic, definitely worth a trip up there. Room was very nice and comfortable although a little bit cold in Oct for us, we are used to the hotter weather down on the coast. We did put the heating on for a bit and that helped. We FaceTimed some friends and they were sat with aircon on and couldn't believe we had heating on. Guess we are getting soft.

Stayed 2 nights...road journey to Confrides ...interesting to say the least...don't attempt in the dark ! Views are lovely but don't take your eyes off the road !! Hotel is spot on..Raffa the owner / manager speaks great English and is so helpful and friendly,we had a room with large balcony which was a good move as the views are stunning....grab a beer or wine from small shop opposite sit back and enjoy. Monday the restaurant is closed so we went just up the road to the only other place La Venta which was excellent. Tue ate at El Pirineo again excellent. Nice pool...clean and refreshing after walking or driving to local attractions.

We stayed here for two a two night break and we had a wonderful time. We booked a budget room and wow two nights for 62 euros. It was the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. Yes it was at the front but with the good double glazing and air con we could not hear anything in the room. The staff at the hotle are lovely and cannot do enough for you and the food in the hotel was second to none. beautifully cooked and very reasonable. The breakfast in the morning was also good with homemade croissants. Very nice pool with lots of shade with good views. The Hotel is in a very good place to visit Guadalest and the surrounding countryside and the ride there is very scenic. I think you can pay more for a better room but the budget room we had was very good - we will be visiting there again. Thank you Rafa for making us so welcome. There was also good wifi (not much telephone coverage) in all rooms and areas. Only very slight negative is that though the mattresses were good quality they were a bit too firm for me but this would not stop me staying there again.

It's a nice hotel in a little village in the mountains about 20 kms from Benidorm and about 100 kms from Alicante. Be prepared for a 30 minutes' drive in the mountains. Beautiful and a little scary :) It has a nice pool. All was good. It's a shame there was no breakfast option with the room. And next time I will book a room with a balcony and view of the mountains rather than a budget room. I regretted booking it.
