We had the restaurant to ourselves for the evening, so we're able to enjoy ourselves without worrying about other guests! Service was, unsurprisingly, good and the waiter was pleasant. Food was standard pub grub and was reasonably priced.

Stopped for lunch midweek with family. Good pub food, friendly service. Made us welcome despite waiting for a large group to arrive. The staff were very welcoming to our 4 year old grandson, who thought they were all lovely.

Our room was fine (it was v hot but many people like this - oddly, it was nigh on impossible to cool down despite having every window open throughout the night!)as was the bathroom/shower (plenty of hot water). Nice towels. TV limited due to the pub's geographical position ... not a problem (for us anyway) Wifi excellent and free. The...

Would definitely recommend this place for a bite to eat. Good menu range plus range of specials all reasonably priced. Very welcoming staff who put themselves out. Place could do with a bit of sprucing up but very homely.

This is the real thing...a local pub and inn. Beautiful grounds, friendly people, comfortable bed. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Don't expect consistent wifi, though - just based on location it's intermittent. Seems like it was a bit better in the pub than in our room. That being said - I've spread the word about this little gem in the...

We stayed one night on our way to York from Edinburgh. The location was beautiful. The food was good old fashioned comfort food- it filled you up & warmed you up, as well being very tasty. The room did exactly what it was supposed to and was very clean. My final comment has to go to the staff and manager...

Stayed here as one of two couples Booked the lower level room that is suitable for those with mobility issues (doubt if this would be suitable for wheelchair users though) The sound of the river can be heard in the room but to me was a feature and not detrimental Staff were extremely friendly and helpful Had evening meal in...

We checked in and were shown to a large comfortable room. Furnishings were a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Beer was great. Our meals were excellent, I had a simple chicken breast but it was perfectly done, juicy and delicious! Breakfast was good, however the croissants could've been better. All in all, a great find in a beautiful setting!

Stayed here overnight. We needed a dog friendly place and here was perfect. The room we had was basic but clean with a very comfortable bed plus tea and coffee making facilities and a wonderful shower too. Our dog was allowed in the bar (not the new restaurant) and the staff were really friendly. Breakfast was perfect to set us...
