During my lodging time at this Martino resort I was worry about what I should spec on this low rate hotel, didn’t worry because I just have to stay couple nights until my friends get into Costa Rica to have some fun. Great since I get to the front desk because didn’t have to wait for my room even I...

My sister wedding was there, so we book one night, we did not expect how incredible it was the food at the wedding, then very tire at midnight we went to the room, it was very big not like the tiny rooms of the new hotels, we felt very comfortable in a charm quit environment to sleep, the breakfast at...

I stayed for a week as part of a group business thing...our group works in educational technology, so the lack of Internet was frustrating to say the least. The rooms are spartan, the bugs all over (but can you blame the staff for that; it's Humid City), but everyone was nice, and if you are expecting every hotel in the...

We were VERY disappointed with this hotel. We came back from Manuel Antonio to stay here for one night before our flight the next morning, and, boy did staying at Martino make us want to get home.... I don't know this place's actual history, but walking around the property I got the feel that this was a really nice place...

Five friends and I booked the Martino as a one night stop over at the beginning and the end of our trip to Costa Rica. It was about 20 minutes drive from the airport and we had read that Alajuela was much nicer than staying in San Jose. It was really quiet as it was out of season which meant...

This is one of those places that draws you in. I've gone back at least once a year for the last six years. It's in the middle of nowhere, about 30 minutes outside of San Jose. Directly across the street is a zoo and a top notch spa is located on the property. HONESTLY.. yes.. the pictures on the website...

Initially we thought the property was charming. Restored spanish style resembling old resorts no longer built these days. Lots of beautiful wood & tile, roman style pool, etc. However, that was where the charm ended. Our room was old, the AC was an odd wall unit that required our key to be put in, and therefore would not run when...

Even at 1:00, I took the Spirit late flight from Lauderdale, it took close to 25 minutes to get here from the airport. That puts it almost an hour to get into San Jose. If traffic is heavy, there is really only one route to the autopista, it can take almost an hour and a half. Add to that my...

you don't see the what you're getting. Others in our group had a bug problem and mouse poop in their rooms and we thought we were lucky. We were wrong. We were in the main building and the first night we heard a sound coming through the ceiling which we tried to convince ourselves were birds. Then we found the...

Stayed for a week at end of May / early June 2011. Old furnture, needs to be updated. The "free" internet was non-existent. The food was good. The location is near nothing so everything was a 2 or 3 hour drive away. It's not near the city or beaches or activities. Our first room had so many bugs, roaches, flying...
