We stayed with Nong and her family for 4 nights in the Garden Hut. We had our own basic bathroom and a large bed with a mosquito net. There was a small fridge on the porch from which cold drinks could be purchased for a nominal fee. We did 2 day tours during our stay (hill tribe village, orchid farm and waterfall & the Chiang Mai City tour). We visited the local handicraft village and gained a much deeper understanding of the workmanship and artistry of the local trades. Nong & Coco were gracious hosts and tour guides-we could not have had better! Our special dinner (don’t recall the name but it started with a ‘K’) was delicious and we appreciated the time Nong spent with us to answer our questions and share her knowledge. We used Nong’s bicycles to tour the village visiting the rice fields and local market. We enjoyed our stay and left feeling like we had experienced a little of local village life. …
We really loved it to stay at the moonlight barn in this guesthouse. Nature music in the night, a lot of birds in the tree nearby....lovely hosts Nong and Koko.......wonderful food.....tours by bike in the village.....cooking class in the neighbourhood....Thai massage at the HomeStay.....we will come back.
Ban Chunsongsang Home Stay is run by a very friendly, attentive and caring host: Ms Nong (Pitchsinee T). Ms Nong understands the needs of travellers and offers her services before even asked. She provides free airport transfers, local tour packages arrangement and even offers transportation to the tour pick up points. Nong takes time to explain their culture and even invites us to join her in festival celebrations. It is an interesting experience that I believe I will not have if I did not stay in this Home Stay. Her family has excellent chefs in serving delicious Thai cuisine and desserts. Exploration around the village is exciting too. We get to see the golden paddy fields and the warm greetings from all villagers. Nong’s family is also an advocate of environmental protection. They installed water sprinkle at roof top. The water sprinkle helps to cool the huts (natural air-conditioning) and water the plants around the huts. Our 4 days stay at Ban Chunsongsang Home Stay is peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. We can experience Thai culture, smiles and joy here. I will recommend Ban Chunsongsang Home Stay for anyone who want to experience local Thai culture, simplicity in life, rest and relax in the nature, quietness and peace.…
We stayed with Nong and Coco for three nights and had a truely great time. After being picked up at the airport and dropping off our luggage at the house we went on a nice bike ride with Coco to the local market. Coco explained what was going on and what was what. Our kids, 5+7, were amazed with the experience riding through the rice fields and villages. Nong took time to explain everything we needed to know, suggested some sights to see in the city and every night we had great tasting dinner for prices that are just unreal. The drive into town is about 20-30 minutes in a climatised minibus. If you are after something different than just a standard hotel stay then Ban Changsungsong is the place to chose. Totally recommended
Places like Ban Chunsongsang are the reason I travel. From the moment that Nong and Coco picked us up in Chiang Mai, they welcomed me and my daughters with open arms. I could not have chosen a better place to spend a week in northern Thailand. Nong, Coco and family are absolutely precious people. They included us in many priceless activities, allowing us to truly experience their culture. They treated us like friends and gave my daughters a gift in their development into thoughtful young women. I can’t thank this family enough for their incredible kindness and generosity. We stayed in the moonlight barn. It was perfect for us. My daughters had a room with two beds and I had my own room. Each room had comfortable mosquito nets that were in great shape. We especially loved the patio under the house with chairs and hammocks to lounge in when the day was hot. The only thing that could have been better about the home was that the water heater is tricky, and a little scary, so we only used the cold shower. Since it’s late October, the water was a bit too cold at night. During our days, we had so much fun exploring the village on bikes (they have all sizes!), going to a school with Nong, taking cooking, woodcarving and painting classes, enjoying delicious food and going to the temple with Coco. There are easy, relatively inexpensive ways to get into the city, but we never wanted to. We had everything we needed in the village and loved not seeing another tourist for the entire week except for when we took a cooking class one evening. I can’t recommend Ban Chunsongsang highly enough. If you’re a high maintenance person who gets annoyed by the sounds of nature, likes to hang out with other tourists, can’t deal with being warm sometimes and don’t have a real interest in Thai culture, go elsewhere. If you’re an adventurous soul who craves inclusion and to learn, loves authentic Thai food and getting to know awesome people in a beautiful setting - look no further, this place is for you! We’re sitting in Chiang Rai right now at a fancy hotel, feeling distanced from the people and culture, missing Nong and Coco and their wonderful family.…
