Papai has a wonderfully helpful staff who helped us plan our retreat from start to finish, including arranging for travel and sightseeing. The resort is beautiful and tucked away in a quiet place near Doi Saket. Our organization did a retreat there and the facilities were perfect. The food was excellent and the rooms were nice. There is not a ton to do there on the grounds, but the pool was in excellent condition and there were bikes for riding. It's quite near several hot springs and other fun places to visit. We will surely go back again.

If you are looking for a paradise this is the place to be. A pecfect hideaway location from the busy city of Chiang Mai. All staff are very accomodating with the leadership of Mr. James.
This place makes you relaxed and gives you a peace of mind.

Everyone we dealt with at Papai Country Lodge was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms and the grounds are beautiful. We passed many happy hours relaxing in and around the pool, and we used the free bikes to explore. There were plenty of options for breakfast and the food was very tasty. The restaurant menu is quite large and James was happy to adapt our choices to suit vegetarians. I would recommend Papai Country Lodge to anyone who wants to experience a tranquil escape from the city. James, Patchy and their team really want you to enjoy your holiday.

We had a family reunion at Papai Country Lodge and they were able to keep every single one of us happy, from age 70 to age 7. The hospitality was thoughtful and generous. The grounds were stunning. Overall perfect holiday for people who want to relax and prefer quality of experience over 5 star hotel safety. Food was good but after the first couple of meals we wanted more variety( only Thai was available). But Patcharee, James and the entire family were exceptional in taking care of us - if they found kids in the pool they would offer a ball to play with; if we were chatting in the garden they would bring fresh fruits over...a thoroughly enjoyable and stress free holiday

We stayed at Papai Lodge for 8 days over the New Year and had a fantastic time. Patchy and James were incredible hosts and all the staff at the lodge went out of their way to make us feel at home.
We were a party of 8 with 2 elderly folk and 4 kids (7-15) and every one had a great time. Although the lodge was out of the city, it wasn’t difficult to get to. Patchy helped us plan a wonderful itinerary to cater to our diverse needs and helped us arrange for a driver to get us around.
Some days, we just spent at the idyllic lodge with the kids playing on the grounds and swimming.
As we were staying for a few days, we soon exhausted the menu at the lodge restaurant due to our dietary requirements. James (who is the chef) was gracious enough to cook up wonderful dinners for us with local dishes and local produce. Our evening dinners at the lodge restaurant became pleasant surprises every evening.
Patchy’s 4 year old son was a real star. He was friendly and engaging and our kids had a great time playing with him.
We stayed in 3 villas and a tent. The lodgings are very comfortable and each lodge had a veranda where you can relax in the cool weather and read a book. The rooms had good sound insulation and black out curtains and can definitely provide a good resting place. There were many swings for those quiet moments alone.
The tent was spacious enough to sleep 2 adults comfortably and the duvets kept us warm at night. It was a little noisy at times in the tent, with traffic noise, rain (piter-pater) and of course, Cockerels crowing but that’s camping! Tents were in good condition with good nets to keep the bugs out.
There are many activities to do around Papai. We went ziplining at the Flight of the Gibbon and spent a day visiting a pottery factory making celadon pottery and even had a go at making some pottery. On New Year’s Eve, the lodge had a great party and we release many sky lanterns which complimented the beautiful starry night.
Papai is a fantastic place and we highly recommend a visit.
The lodge had good amenities and the only thing on my wish list would be self service laundry. (That's really helpful when there are many kids and for longer stays)
Thanks again , Patchy and James for your wonderful hospitality.

Lovely pool, gardens & rooms. The bedrooms in the villas are a little small, but in the hotel building lovely and large. Service was great! They set up tables in my room so I could do my art more comfortably.
I wish there was some simple western food on the menu.
