Detailed Reviews
I spent there some nights again after years, and I see that the owners really know how to manage a good guesthouse. They are very friendly, helpfull and make everything for you what you need. Very clean, quiet rooms with a beautiful view on the rice fields. Free coffee and chocolate milk, airport transfer. Thank you Fai!
There are some new comfortable rooms too for the people who are going on a trip.
For lunch and dinner you will find some good place on the road near to the guesthouse, for breakfast buy some food in the 7/eleven or in the Coop at the petrolstation.

We rent here an apartment which was very calm and cool even in the hot weather. We liked very much when the cold wind arrived from the ricefields in the evenings.
The owners are very nice young couple, perfect in English. The house is on the mainroad going to Chiang Mai, but it is not noisy, and it is very easy to drive to the mountains or to the little villages, to Bosang and Sankanpeng too, or by bicycle to the lakes. In Doi Saket you can find the good Thusday evening market and a good swimmingpool, where you can be the only guest.

Nice place to stay with modern new and very clean rooms. They not serve breakfast but you can get that cheap and very delicious at the Dairy Goat cafe next to the Hotel.Plenty of western style and Thai style restaurants in the area as well. Highly recommended if you need a place to stay in Doi Saket.

This great little guesthouse (new in 2014) will suit visitors to Doi Saket and travellers who want clean, calm, cool, quiet surroundings on the busy highway between Chiang Mai and Chaing Rai. It's a good overnight option for active tourists - walking distance to the Doi Saket temple; to the daily market (where there is cheap and easy 40-min public transport to Chiang Mai); to the Tuesday evening market. It's an easy return bike ride of 10-15kms along canals and backroads, via relaxed Le Cafe coffee shop, to the enormous nearby Mae Kuang dam and other local lakes. Non-active guests will need their own transport or may prefer to charter the comfortable car of the charming, English-speaking homestay owners Fai and Opal. I stayed for several weeks during a work trip - used a bicycle to get around - loved the Dairy Goat Cafe girls (goats and human) and Locanda Italian restaurant, both next door. Would stay again, no question.

For those who don't want to stay in busy Chiang Mai or are on their way to Chiang Rai, The Him Doi Guesthouse in Doi Saket, is the perfect place to stay. Located just off the highway to Chiang Rai it offers magnificent views of tranquil rice paddies that can be enjoyed from each room, all of which either have balconies or verandahs. Run by the super friendly and helpful couple, Khun Fai and Khun Opal, you feel welcomed and at home. Staying there in clean and quiet rooms has been such a treat and I sincerely recommend this place to anyone.

"I stayed in hot season - the 'D' rooms (I think - they're the rooms to the right as you look at the guesthouse from the road) were cooler - ie not directly absorbing afternoon sun. Third floor rooms with private balconies and, separately, a shared verandah and microwave oven/kettle perfect for singles or couples. Second and first floor rooms/apartments better suited to families."Read full review
