We spent one night at Le Maquis and very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel feels like not much has changed there in a long time, but that is part of the ambiance. You feel like you have stepped back in time into a large villa owned by someone with very eclectic taste in decor. The room was huge, staff...

We stayed at Le Maquis for 4 days in mid June and it was wonderful from start to finish. In fact, we didn't left the hotel environs from check in to the moment we checked out. Quiet, understated luxury with a superb restaurant and attentive, happy staff. The private cove was blissfully quiet compared to local public beaches...usually only one...

This charming hotel was built in 1949 and has a quaint atmosphere. Located right on the water, I would strongly recommend a sea view room. Please note the two disadvantages were there was no iron or coffee offered in the room. There was a fee for both services which are usually included in most hotel rooms. The staff were all...

My wife and I spent a night at La Maquis the week before last and cannot fault it. The hotel, despite being on a fairly small site, has made the most of the space available, and has lots of character, with a lovely terrace, a welcoming pool, well tended gardens and a private beach. I agree with another reviewer who...

Wow, I still can not forget our one night at this superb hotel. From the very beginning everything was exceptional. The hotel is actually a manor or a castle located at the sea side, with beautiful view to the bay. Our rooms were perfect, well equipped, there was everything you might need. The bathroom was large and had a view...

The pictures on the website does not look that good. It's better if you are there. Outside the hotel is only the road and nothing much. For a nice walk, you need to drive somewhere else. Parking is free and easy in front of the hotel. We stayed in room #31 with a nice balcony and great view. The bathroom...

All depends what you expect from Le Maquis. Generally problems arise when your expectations not found with reality. If you are looking for jolly and modern place, where everyone sings and hums you do not have to came here. It is quit and elegant place with aristocratic spirit. The Hotel located right on the beach. This boutique, surroudeed by greenery,...

The hotel is located directly on the sea-shore and has very comfortable well equipped beach. Choose accommodation facing the sea and you will enjoy sea breeze during even very hot summer season. Distant location from the Ajaccio give you real opportunity to have a relaxed vacation will a lot of activities like gastronomic experience both in the hotel as well...

You will find this place in a 20 minute drive from the busy Ajaccio: it looks like an old Corsican mansion on a beach. We got used to this place after 3 days of our week stay -- you begin to feel like home here and find it very calm and relaxed. Take a car and explore the island. The...

A former 4 star luxury hotel that faded into average. The staff is either useless, arrogant or both. The hotel is badly decorated with old appliances and is a mish mash of architecture. The gastronomique restaurant is not worth the punt...many more better eateries around! Private beach is not an asset as so many gorgeous beaches around... Inside and outdoors...
