Located in the heart of town this hotel looks wonderful from the outside. We stayed in a room with its own private patio on the side of the hotel. The room was small and shower, bathroom as well. It's not a room service type of hotel if that's what you are looking for. So we just went a bought some...

We visited the hotel for a meal based on the recommendation of a magazine article. We were not disappointed. The staff were very helpful, and although we could not sit outside on the terrace because it was fully booked, we all still enjoyed the restaurant. We all had the foie gras to start with a glass of monbazillac to wash...

We had the top tower room which is very characterful. It was clean and comfortable. The receptionist seemed helpful telling us where to park for free nearby. However nobody told us that the door was locked at 11pm even on music festival night, nor did they give us the keypad code. We were left stuck in the street as the...

My spouse and I recently spent a few nights in Sarlat at this small hotel. The location is sweet, with easy access to a beautiful historic town as well as to areas in the Dordogne. And Sarlat la Canéda is a perfect place to center when visiting this portion of France. Rooms are small, but when you spend as little...

We were given a double room in the tower. Lovely room indeed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Didn't eat here so can't say how food was. The tower room is perhaps not ideal for light sleepers as the cleaners on the square directly outside seem to get up very early and aren't exactly quiet as they go about their business....

Our second stay at this historic hotel at the edge of city close to Sat. market and sights. Things have changed in 10 years and we ended up in one of the added rooms with an awkward access through eating area and up a couple flights of quirky stairs. Room with city view and bathroom spacious. Breakfast buffet inconveniently placed...

We planned to stay here and eat in the restaurant as part of a trip around different spots in the Dordogne with visiting family. We checked in and were told that the restaurant was closed that evening, an "exceptional closing" - great! Lift so small it bites you. Room not much bigger - shower even smaller! Exceptional closure meant they...

This was an interesting place to stay! Reasonable and clean. The elevator is very small and the stairs are tricky. You need a guide to find your room. We laughed at all the twists and turns. So don't be surprised and be in good health. It is located in a nice place very lose to the town square. I would...

This lovely old hotel is in the heart of Sarlat is a one-of-a-kind. Don't expect modern conveniences--like elevators--but do expect loads of charm. My room was on the second level and getting to it was quite an adventure on the twisty staircase of this repurposed military fortress. The hotel restaurant is quite good and the wine selection was decent. The...

In late April I spent 4 nights in Hotel La Couleuvrine. It is a great location for walking in Sarlat and for taking day trips to the surrounding Dordogne region. My room was large and clean, with an en-suite bathroom. I've forgotten the room number, but it was located directly above the breakfast room. It was quiet and had multiple...
