La Lanterne, a very short walk from Sarlat's center, is a wonderful B&B in a 16th (?) century building with 21st century conveniences and a most convivial host, Terri Bowen. Our room had 2 stories: the downstairs includes the bathroom, a small sitting area, and a beverage counter; upstairs is incredibly charming with a window, a balcony, and the limestone...

We spent a wonderful 5 nights at La Lanterne. Terri was very welcoming and made us feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. We also met her two dogs and also her grandchildren, who were staying for a holiday. Terri gave advice on where to eat in Sarlat, day trips around the Dordogne area, as well...

Our experience at La Lanterne would be hard to beat. Terri is a warm , welcoming and personable host, ready to share her knowledge and experience of this beautiful town. Terri welcomed us from the very beginning of our stay at La Lanterne. She helped us with car parking & offered us a free drink upon arrival. Terri also advised us of places to visit & see during our stay in Sarlat. The room, albeit a little small ( I believe other rooms are bigger), was comfortable, including the bed....

We enjoyed staying at our B and B, the Tapestry room, with its cozy and modern room overlooking a narrow and quiet alley. We were met by Terry, along with Frodo and Phibi. The breakfasts were out standing: local pastry, bread and granola, yogurt, fresh fruit and eggs, if requested. Our anticipation of Sarlat's architecture and food surpassed our expectations....

We almost hate to add our kudos to other reviewers who have been lucky enough to stay with Terri at La Lanterne. Make your reservations early! The location is perfect for exploring Sarlat and Terri is more than helpful with directions and shortcuts. Terri has made a welcoming home for her guests and it is both comfortable and beautiful. Then...

First, Terri was a friendly hostess who made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived within her inviting courtyard; she offered us a drink and patiently gave us excellent advice on making the most of our two days in Sarlat. Our room was very comfortable, the breakfast was good and we enjoyed the company of her two dogs --...

We spent six days with Terri, the owner, at this elegant yet comfortable and friendly B&B in Sarlat. Terri is well known in the community, and she is a delightful hostess. Our breakfasts were so much more than coffee and bread--tasty fresh fruit, yogurt and granola. The evening gatherings with other guests for wine and sharing that day's market treats,...

Terri and her two sidekicks, Frodo and Fibi, provided us with a wonderful week in the charming town of Sarlat. The house is beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable.
