We took the aged in-laws to the Dordogne and needed a hotel that was close to the historic centre of Sarlat at a good price. Hotel des Recollets fits the bill - room sizes ok, two minutes from the 'cite medieval', very good breakfast. Ask for rooms 307 and 308 (great for two couples and near enough to the reception...

After a train journey from Bordeaux we arrived around 1pm to find this hotel/b&b closed until 4pm!! We should have been told this when we made the booking. When we were shown our room we could not believe that 2 people were expected to stay in what was little more than a cupboard!!! There were only a few inches from...

We stayed here for two nights on a motorbike trip as Sarlat was a good loctation to visit the neighbouring towns and admire the Dordogne river. The hotel had a little sqaure where we could park the motorbike and the hotel was clean and room was a good size. I would not recommend this hotel for elderly people or anyone...

This building was an Abbey in medieval times and is now a lovely hotel. Small rooms with ensuite bathroom and airconditioning. Clean and tidy. Breakfast is served in a fascinating dome roofed room or in the internal patio. Loved the place and staff were very pleasant, helpful and cooperative. Office is not open at all times so make sure if...

This hotel offers what you expect of quality in a 2-star establishment. The location is excellent and the staff are very friendly & obliging. The WIFI is just ok. We had an upstairs room with narrow passageways - an added difficulty for moving luggage around. Access via car is difficult & confused the GPS All-in-all a positive vibe from this...

A number of years ago (May 2010) my wife and I spent three nights here, the reason I have come back all these years later to write a review is simply because we had such a wonderful time. We arrived by train without reservations and walked into town, Hotel des Recollets was looked charming from the outside so we decided...

Christoph and his family did everything to help us. Even drove us to the train station at 6:30 am. We're a couple doing France by train and bus and with their help we found a bus that took us from Sarlat-la-Canéda to Lascaux! Breakfast is a great value, our room was spacious and warm, since March was chilly. Definitely a...

Recomended for a night stay. Located in the old town, close to everything. Breakfast well served in an ancien piece fully remodeled, very nice atmosphere. Prices lower than expected, 100 euros including breakfast for two and parking.

We stumbled upon this small, boutique hotel while we were touring Sarlat. We changed hotels so that we could stay here! It was a real find! Our room faced the courtyard; a treat because it was a lovely place to sit after touring through the city. The room was small but extremely clean, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The breakfast room...
