I stayed here at the Lion d"Or for 4 nights while accompanying my son's rugby team on a tour through France. This is my first trip to Europe in France. First let me say, I have no French, it is almost embarrassing how little French I have as well as how little knowledge of the French Culture. I am writing...

The outside of the hotel/ restaurant is battleship grey, the interior of the restaurant is most likely best described as functional but the value and cooking is sensational. I had been dining in Arcachon the day before where the fish of the day was approx.€30 or more! Here they do a 3 course menu for €12 and the cooking is superb....

We had reservations for two nights, but were delayed in Bordeaux looking for luggage. I chose this hotel for it's location to the Le Mas d'Agenais port of LeBoat rentals and for supplies at the Saturday market before departing down the Garonne canal. We had room 216 which was spacious with an additional alcove sleeping area. The room was clean...

Had dinner here tonight, despite the poor reviews in French, choice good, clean linen, food pleasant, and well presented, ample servings. Not that bad at all, but then again a little expensive and 'misses' slightly. Sancerre wine 34 euros a bottle is steep, house wine is quite bad really imho. Was not staying, so cannot comment on rooms. Generally acceptable.

No problems whatsoever, good value for money, comfy sleeps and good shower. Three of us travelling, one separate bedroom and alcove room. Rooms very modern! Our room had a door onto indoor courtyard. Very quiet. Free Wifi only worked in alcove room but this was not an issue. Bikes stored in the garage and no problem for staff. Staff very...

Being a monday a lot of places in town were closed and I chanced upon this place and I am really pleased I did! As I am meant to be on a diet I chose the menu du jour which offered three courses for 11 euros. Outstanding value for beautifully cooked food. A delicious home made soup followed by a...

Rooms a bit small but adequate for the price, service friendly, very convenient location. However, stay here for the food and wine which are superb. Choice of several menus at fixed price plus a la carte.
