Its a very nice hotel, located in the middle of the town, with very nice people, very close to us, and always trying to help us with our local tours and visits.
The room was very clean and warm.

Stayed for one night on the way back to Bilbao. It was all fine, utilitarian and clean, but nothing special, but at a decent rate. Didn't eat there so can't comment.

It is within walking distance of course, because it is not a big city. But not really close (15-20 mn walk). You have other hotels closer to the station. Keep in mind that there are very few trains going and coming from MdM.
