Host not particularly friendly and we didn't speak French very well so difficult to converse. It was fine for an overnight stop but anyone larger than average could not have accessed the shower and toilet facilities. We had to give a 10 Euro deposit for the Wi-fi card and when we handed it in the following morning it quickly disappeared...

Waking up to the sound of belled sheep cascading down the hill across the road certainly added a charming dimension to this necessary stopover. The old clifftop village is also great for an excellent dinner and a morning walk along the village walls. The hotel itself was attractive from the outside and sheep-filled views were pleasant, but rooms were average...

When we arrived the host did not seem very welcoming, but after a while he opened up and became quite chatty and obliging. Our room was fine, the Wi-Fi worked, and the evening meal, though from a very limited menu, was excellent. So was the breakfast. It seems it is difficult to get people to work there, so the host...

We travelled in a hire car which made it relatively easy for us but be warned that this charming hotel is at the foot of the hill where the main part of St Flour sits (probably a 20 minute uphill walk?) There is quite a lot of parking behind the hotel but you can also park Over the road in...

Probably the most helpful and caring hoteliers we have ever come across. During our walking holiday in France my partner had injured her knee and was clearly struggling with stairs when inspecting the rooms at this hotel. When we came back with our bags M and Mme had a quick conflab and suddenly we were shown to a ground floor...

My husband and I stopped here during our drive north through France. We only discovered it by accident, so I can't comment how easy it would be to find if you should be looking for it! It is a little way out of the centre of the village. The car park was directly opposite the hotel, with the car easily visible....

We stayed here on Saturday night and had a very satisfying experience. The owner was very helpful; the room and beds comfortable and the food at dinner excellent and overall restored our faith in French hospitality - sometimes sadly lacking. My only teeny complaint was the very small shower cubicle which could be difficult for a larger traveller. I thoroughly...

I rarely write a totally negative review but I had such an unpleasant experience here. We stayed at this hotel as it advertised itself as having WiFi- in fact it was the first question I asked. I was given a card to use and attempted to connect with no success. After an hour of trying we decided to leave and...

We stayed for just one night as we were travelling south, and found the place to be clean, bright, comfortable and quiet. Although small and basic the room and bathroom had been well thought through to provide everything you need in a hotel, incuding free wifi. The service was good and helpful, and the evening meal was very traditional and...

We chose this hotel without previously checking any trip advisor entries and perhaps if we’d done so, we might have elected to try elsewhere on the strength of a few unfavourable reviews. What we found was entirely to our liking, if slightly quirky. The hotel is situated in the lower part of the picturesque St-Flour with the high town’s imposing...
