A very nice and clean hotel. The staff is also very pleasant and the interior is nice. Also the breakfast is good! We would come again! There is a parkingplace behind the hotel. The parkingplace in front of the hotel costs.

La Balance has some outstanding staff and it is an interesting and historic hotel. We stayed in the Marachel de Lattre de Tassigny's room which was spacious and quiet. The town itself had less to recommend it, although it did rain heavily during our stay. We had a meal in La Pause Gourmande (highly recommended) and Marco Polo (best avoided)

The hotel is in oldtime style and you really feel there like a stranger who finally got his place! Cozy, comfortable and very clean. The bed comforts you like an angel's hand! The receptionist speaks only French but is doing her best to welcome you at any time you arrived

A hotel "old style", with wood stairs, that "includes" the typical noise of old wood stairs. Rooms and bathroom are in accordance with the all the hotel caractheristics. Very positive the isolation in terms of temperatura and noise. The breakfast is good and the service perfect.

Staff were friendly. Breakfast was very good. The room was spacious and clean. Bikes were parked inside the hotel towards. Not a locked room from the inside but secure enough. The hotel is located a little away from the centre of town and you need to ask for suggestions from reception if you want to eat on a Sunday night... More

Very nice quiet hotel with and atmosphere plus history. The bedroom was very comfortable. The owner of the hotel Valerie was superb and very kind in all aspects. Absolutely recommend to stay in Hotel La Balance if in Montbeliard. Hotel breakfast was very good with assortments of French cheeses and fruit.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Parking inside the small backyard is very convenient but a bit narrow to get to. Storage for bicycles! A pity they do not have a restaurant but there are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance.

This is a wonderful hotel in the old city, restored and lovingly cared for by the owner. She is delightful, as is the entire staff. The stairway and dining room floor maintain their 16th century origins, and the hotel was used during WWII as a base for French commanders to protect this region of France. Wonderful history and fine accommodations... More

I was warmly welcomed even arriving quite late. The room is quiet, and remind old times even if all comfort is available. Breakfast is very good and when checked out, the bill was ready. This is a nice place to stay in Montbéliard, we'll located closed to the train station and the castle.

This is an historic hotel in the centre of town, with parking available at the rear of the hotel on a first-come basis. Our bedroom was recently renovated and very chic, with a spacious bathroom. There is an elevator. The hotel has old-world charm and celebrates its role in 1944 as headquarters for the French army as it retook the... More
