I selected this hotel based upon Tripadvisor reviews and I was not disappointed. What is not to like? The property is immaculate and the staff is friendly. The garden is beautiful and it is so quiet there that all you can hear is the wind in the trees. But the crowning touch is the restaurant. What could be better than...

On a driving tour of France we booked the hotel in advance over the internet. It was everything it claimed and even more charming than expected. Has an old world feel as you realize the place has been here a"long time" but has all the freshness and amenities of modern hotel. Far from my vision of a "Best Western". Location...

After quickly and amicably resolving a potential problem concerning the type of room booked and paid for in advance, we were shown to our garden-facing room with balcony, and not to one overlooking the swimming pool which was ready for us. There are only seven such upper level garden rooms, numbered 27 - 33, each with its own external door...

Avignon- La Magnaneraie June 2008 Originally booked to stay four nights but checked out after two.We were in room 42 - an annex next to the pool and were subjected the pool noise of one family (not residents) for 5 hours. We asked to move but because the Hotel was full had to wait until the next day (Sunday). We were then...

We stayed here 3 nights and was very impressed. Rooms were a little tired but very comfortable and decor was classic. We actually preferred the location (Les Villeneuve-Avignon) rather than Avignon which we did visit on our stay. We did not try the bfast but dinner was excellent. We had the fixed menu with 3 courses and was a great...

We stayed at the Magnaneraie for a week at the end of May 2008. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area a ten minute stroll downhill to Villeneuve-les-Avignon. If you don’t mind walking the centre of Avignon is about forty minutes from the hotel on foot, or you can catch the no. 11 bus which stops every thirty...

The Hotel and location were excellent albeit the bedroom a little tired, garden excellent. The service and attitude in the restaurant was however extremely poor, given that we had specifically booked an evening mealtime that that did not clash with others we found ourselves ignored by the staff for 20 minutes without being offered a drink or even menus. When...

La Magnaneraie is a beautiful and charming hotel in the wonderful town Villeneuve-Les-Avignon. This isn't actually Avignon, but it is right across the river from it (a short bus ride). I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The staff are very very friendly and helpful, the gardens are beautiful, and the surrounding town has an amazing charming feel...

We had a wonderful stay at the La Magnaneraie. The setting is beautiful - a lovely garden and a great view of Avignon from the upper terrace. Our room was very large and clean and beautifully decorated a la Provence. We would love to stay here again.

Based on the excellent reviews on this site, we booked one night's stay at La Magnaneraie to see what it was like before moving to an apartment in Avignon the following day. Admittedly, we didn't have the budget to stretch to a garden room so I knew that we might not end up in quite the same lap of luxury....
