Came here with my wife, 3 kids ranging from 3 to 9 and parents who are in their 60s. My two eldest girls enjoyed themselves greatly with the hikes and sights of nature. The 3 year old was probably too young to appreciate the trip but he did have fun in some of the activities. It was a good break from electronics and work since there's no functioningdata reception there. Accommodation was basic but it's what Eco living is about. Food was good cooked by a very passionate cook. Steve and Tom were great hosts and we were the only visitors there during our whole stay. Learnt a lot about nature and history of the area from Steve and Tom. This is a place with great potential to be a Eco destination but the neglect by the government with regards to logging activities in the surrounding…
Mr. Kong his family where great hosts! Food and accomodation were great. Unfortunately the groups were a bit big for the tracking we did so we did not see a lot of animals :-) it was more touristy then we thought! But still great to be in the middle of nature and still feel like at home!
Program is suitable for families with children - not too hectic but keeps children occupied and happy. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable holiday. However, safety vests are old and need to be replaced. Invest in more board/card games so that guests can play when they are unable to enjoy outdoor activities - raining/night. We appeal to the Government of Malaysia to enforce strict protection over this heritage - end illegal logging & fishing and defend the orang asli.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our intended stay because the resort showed zero flexibility or effort to arrange anything according to our needs and proposals. It seems they don't really need or want any guests. Hospitality looks very different!
Belum Eco resort is a great oppurtunity to stay in the middle of the jungle with nithing but nature surrounding you. Food is great and staff is very nice. The little cabins have an amazing view. The trips are okay and let you enjoy the diversity of the jungle's flora and fauna. Great to take a Canoe in the early morning to explore the surrounding lake!
We went as a family of 4 with 2 children, my daughter 5 years old and son 9 years old. We took 2 chalets as each chalet is only able to fit in 2 persons. It has a big balcony and a toilet at the side. There is a cute ceiling fan and exhaust fan in the room. The generator for electricity is only available from 7pm-8am. No internet connection in the resort. Only certain spots has phone coverage for Maxis. We went for the Royal Belum package which needs 2 weeks of permit application by the resort. The resort owner Mr Steve is very knowledgeable about the forest. His wife Susan and son Tom are very hospitable. Mr Kuai the chef served us very yummy food. When we arrived we were served fried mee hoon with curry chicken, cucur udang and watermelon. For tea time we had cream cracker…
Stayed there for 3 days & 2 nights with my family. Left the place with many fond & pleasant memories. Kudos to our attentive, knowledgable & friendly hosts; Steve, Tom & Susan for making the trip memorable. Thank you to Ah Kwai for the tasty steamboat, fried rice and barbeque dinner. Stayed in the chalet with adjoining bathroom. Beautiful view of Temenggor Lake from there. Basic amenities but adequate. Bring your own toiletries. No aircond & electricity is only available in the evening till next morning. No issues with that as its quite cooling especially at night & breezy. Really felt close to nature. Could hear sounds of the forest as we slept at night. Water supply in the chalet can be erratic at times but was quickly rectified upon notification. My kids had fun with the…
Took my family of 4 for a short vacation and we weren't expecting a lot in terms of amenities but we were glad to be pleasantly surprised. Rooms and facilities were a little basic given the eco focus but were nonetheless clean and serving the purpose. Food was a major surprise. Credits to chef Ah Kwai! Uncle Steve is wonderful host who has the vision for sustainable eco tourism! Kids had a great time fishing and kayaking. Best part was stargazing with cool breeze every night atop uncle Steve's cool houseboat. Would definitely return to this place.
Never expect such good service from the owner himself,Steve Khong. My first time to Belum but most said the best place to stay even though the others may have better buildings.Food is good and price very reasonable.
When I booked the resort, I thought it was just another resort like most of the 3 or 4 stars hotel with the "normal" facilities. I was wrong but wrong for a good reason. There is no air conditioning but it really is not necessary as the air is quite cooling. There is no swimming pool but the magnificent lake is the natural pool. My wife and I felt so close to nature and really enjoy the moment in the Eco-friendly island surrounded by blue clean water and green mountains. The trip to the Rafflesia site and the water fall is great. The guides - Sanjay and Burhan are very responsible guys, making sure that we are safe and comfortable. And of course the owner of the resort - Mr Steve Khong is a great host - friendly and knowledgeable. We surely enjoy the trip and learn a lot on…
