Stayed in room 501. Small room, but that is standard for Europe. Electrical outlet only on one side of the bed. Tiny modern bathroom with shower and new sink/faucet. Amazing view of abbey from window. Furnishings were tired and worn. Bed mattress was lumpy and lopsided. Room smelled of fish (restaurant or island?) Worst thing about room was horrific noise...

The best part of this hotel is that you are staying on the island and can explore after all the crowds are gone. It is expensive but worth it for 1 night. be sure to get the parking code from the hotel to park at la cascade . It is parking P3- you need to follow the disabled parking signs...

Location simply cannot be beat. Not super easy to understand where to park or to schlep all of your things up thousand-year-old stairs, BUT entirely worth the effort. Pack lightly, wear your sneakers and be ready to walk. Staying on the isle is an absolute must as once the crowds leave in the evening, it's truly magical. We are a...

Did I mention the location?! Walking distance from Mont Saint Michel. Easily accessed by car and free parking. You need to coordinate with the hotel to get access code for entering the secured area that is available only for the free shuttle if you are not a visitor to one of the hotel and the perimeter. Very basic hotel and...

Was it the nicest room we stayed in during our time in France? No. Was it the biggest room we stayed in? No. Was it fancy in any way? Not really. But the bathroom worked, the bed was adequate, and a fancy hotel wasn't why we were paying top dollar (and yes, it is expensive if you're judging by the...

We stayed here at the end of touring France for a month. We had stayed in Airbnb places, a chateau, bed and breakfast and hotel accommodation. This was the most exorbitantly priced accommodation for the whole trip. Check in is in the peak tourist visiting time on the island with a sea of people in the narrow medieval pathways. The...

We decided to spend a night on the island with the expectation that our overpriced dinner would be unmemorable and our expensive room would be cramped. But, having the whole medieval village to ourselves (and few other travelers) without all the day trippers would make it all worthwhile. Everything turned out as expected. We booked the 2-level family suite. The...

We stayed in this hotel with our family of 4. It was "quaint," small, and expensive but that is to be expected staying on the island. Given that it was on the island and given those constraints, it was a good hotel. We had a room with a loft that suited our family well. The room was historic and enjoyable....

If you're thinking of touring Mont-St-Michel in the Normandy area of France, think about staying right on the island. It is a heavily traveled tourist destination (as it should be - quite spectacular), but staying right there will allow you to access the beautiful abbey first thing in the morning as well as touring the island in the evening when...

What an amazing experience to spend a night on Mont-Saint-Michel!! We were there on a Rick Steves Tour and it included one night here, which was the major highlight for me of the entire two weeks. We received a room about halfway up the mount, well above the small village at the base. We were glad we heeded the advice...
