Arrived at this hotel by accident after the original hotel we wanted to stay in was fully booked. But we were not disappointed the rooms were clean and tidy and staff very friendly. Very nice breakfast serving hot and cold selections. Hotel ideally situated for visiting the town and all historic sites especially those featuring ‘Operation Chariot’ in WW2
Very good hotel except the very noisy young people living at night and doing their "stuff" until very late in the surrounding. I had to go on the parking lot at 1:30 am to ask to stop the loud music. Won't be staying there for sure except I have the guaranty it won't be that noisy at night.
clean friendly hotel in town centre, a good team, great breakfast, well equipped rooms, quiet hotel inside, but a little noise from the street at weekends. easy parking close by. habve used regularly over several years.
Stayed here in March 2019. Room was basic, but that was as expected. The staff were really friendly and helpful - spoke fluent English (which for me was invaluable!) - provided advice and directions, and were happy to help.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, August 21 & 22, 2018. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the breakfast included many tasty choices. The room was nicely decorated and clean with a comfortable bed. I have allergies and it is difficult for us to find a hotel when traveling. The hotel management accommodated us by providing a room with no carpeting. Restaurants, shopping, the submarine nests, as well as the beach were close by. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again next time we are in the area. Chicago, USA
I am a Canadian staying at the comfort hotel de l'europe during my work in France. I've called the hotel home for the past two months, it is a very welcoming place with some of the nicest staff I've ever dealt with. The room is a good size, the bed is so comfortable it helps to get a goodnight sleep for work the next day. There is a bar In the lobby and a breakfast area aswell, serving you up a hot meal in the morning with a wide array of options to choose from.
Good location with ample public parking opposite. Rooms were basic but a decent size and comfortable, clean as was the bathroom. Easy access in and out of town and close enough to walk to the submarine pens (bit disappointed with them though). Not a great deal of choice around for eating places but did find Taverne Karlsbrau just round the corner. Hotel was let down by the breakfast, not a lot of choice, the scrambled eggs were rock hard and cold, beans cold, bacon just warm and the sausages undercooked. Seemed to be only one member of staff on duty for the whole building.
We left our house in central Bittany to spend a long weekend at St Nazaire and visit the excellent beaches we had seen in previous years on our way further south We had booked this Hotel to place us in a central position to visit the surrounding areas,For this purpose it is excellent with very good road networks . With the Hotels central location walking to the beaches ,shops parks and restraunts(as well as the other attractions is really easy)The hotel is in a perfect location in cental St, Nazaire if you want sea views stay on the shoreline Hotels(which cost more naturally)There is a very large public car park outside the Hotel and the parking fees are very cheap. The interior of the Hotel and the rooms are clean and tidy but aspruce up and a coat of paint wouldnt go amiss in certain areas but hey its avery well priced commercial Hoteland does its job well The dinning area is excellent very clean and well set out .The selection for breakfast is excellent every thing you could ask for and more with no limit on what you may have or time you can spend there. After our recent experience at the Reef in Sorrentto italy we where more than impress at breakfast time !! The Staff are very good friendly helpfull and English speaking.Thereis agood Bar for drinks or coffee open all the time in Reception,A really nice place to stay with anice and pleasant attmosphre,Will stay again!!?…
My friends and I travelled to the Loire Valley in May 2017 to visit the tank museum at Saumur, and then the WW2 submarine pens along the coast of Britttany. We arrived at St Nazaire about mid-afternoon - there is a small car park at the side of the hotel but access is a bit tight, and as we were in a Rolls Royce, the car park wasn’t an option. However, there is a large public car park in the square where the hotel is situated. We left our car there overnight and expected a failry expensive fee the next morning, but were pleasantly surprised to find that we only had to pay 2.60 Euros - the machines must reset themselves overnight and start counting from the morning. We had a friendly greeting upon arrival, and I noticed they had a pad of local maps on the desk, which I always like to see. The only downside to this hotel was that there was no lift, so it was a bit of a hike taking our cases up the stairs. luckily we only had to do this once. Rooms were very spacious, beds comfortable, and tea and coffee making facilities were in the room. I noticed that there was also a steel shutter on the windows which could be shut if the lights from the square proved a nuisance at night. I left mine open and with the curtains closed I didn’t have any problems. The bathroom was bright and clean, and the shower was powerful and the temperature control worked as it should, unlike some hotels I’ve been in. Although the hotel is close to a shopping precinct and a couple of bars, there wasn’t much choice in restaurants close by, and as we weren’t in the mood for walking we settled on a Turkish kebab shop opposite the hotel - very good I must say, and it was licensed. However, on the subject of drinking, one of the bars we were in earlier looked like it would close along with the shops, so we chose a proper “pub” style bar close to the hotel. It was a nice place but we were a bit surprised when they closed at 8.30 pm. We returned to the hotel where we were able to drink quite comfortably until we decided to turn in at ten o’clock, but the bar did stay open later than this. Breakfast the next day was the usual cold fare of meats, cheese and hard boiled eggs, along with breads, cereals, fruit and juices, etc. There was also hot bacon and sausages available. Despite the lack of a lift I would gladly go back to this hotel again, probably the best of the four that we stayed in during our trip, and certainly very friendly.…
I was here for one night stay and found out that the location is very good: You can walk everywhere, no troubles. You can also walk to train station easily. The staff was also very friendly. Everything as in line with the price - you get what you expect.
