Lovely location 40 minute walk from pornichet. Nice 2 storey villas. Modern inside although dont look too closely, badly finished. Nice outside seating area. 3 pools, one inside. Play area for kiddies. Gated security parking. Very friendly staff. Less good bits. Shower very slippy, dangerous. The noise at night gangs of kids, ados run riot, noisey adults having parties until 3 am. No restauration on site but ubereats deliver.
We booked through Booking.com and paid directly to TUI Ferienhaus/ Belvilla Services as advised by Booking.com for a 4 night stay at a 3 bedroom property at the Le Domaine du Bois de La Gree in Pornichet, France in April 2022. We arrived on 12 April at the Pierre et Vacances property after a long drive from the UK, and gave our reservation number, and passport details and were told that the booking had not been paid for at all, and was also for a small apartment, not a 3 bedroom property, as per our booking confirmation. We were told no payment for the accommodation had been received from TUI Ferienhaus, and we would have to pay the full amount to stay again in an apartment that was too small for our family of five in any case, so we had to leave and make other arrangements. The receptionist was completely indifferent, trying to blame us, even when we showed proof that we had paid in full already, and had confirmation. As I have had no response yet from Tui FerienHaus/Belvilla Services about a full refund, I would strongly recommend travellers avoid booking with both them and Pierre et Vacances, if they want to avoid being in the situation of arriving at your holiday destination only to be wrongly told it has not been paid for. I am in discussions regarding full refund for the stay, but have received no apology from anyone so far.…
housing looking tired, the shutdown would have been an ideal opportunity to clean and paint, especially externally. nice site though, very friendly staff, mostly families and well behaved small groups, couples etc staying. nice location, not far to the centre of Pornichet and then La Baule, lots of water sports in the area, lots of places to eat, markets everyday in the surrounding areas. takes a while to get your deposit back though!
After driving for 5 hours, totally exhausted with two small children -- we were anticipating to be checked-in warmly and quickly upon arrival. My husband came into the reception area without a mask. The receptionist said to him very aggressively "you can not stay here sir, you need a mask." My husband asked the receptionist if she had one, and she said, "no." My husband returned to the car and was very upset for multiple days, due to the receptionists tone. In his words "her tone was not appropriate, especially addressing guests who spent nearly 3,000 euro on a trip and 5 hours driving." After returning with a mask, my husband checked-in and went to find a luggage cart. When he realized he needed a token, he returned to the receptionist and asked if she had one. She said she did not, again in a tone without any sensitivity or diplomacy, and then suggested he go to Carrefour (a 5 minute’s drive) to find a token or a cash machine. You can imagine that after driving for 5 hours from Paris, with two small kids in the car (who just want to exit the car), the last thing we wanted to do was to go look for a token for the luggage cart. My husband felt that as a guest he should be treated more warmly, and the way he was treated gave him the impression that Pierre et Vacance don't care and don't value their clients. We understand there are policies, masks, tokens, etc, but perhaps one could be offered to guests who don't have one at check-in; or at the very least, this could be communicated in a more gentle and sensitive manner. My husband is still upset about this over a week later. …
We love using P&V properties when in France. This one was booked when we decided to extend our French trip by a week, on booking.com. Really good price for a 6 berth house, with lots of space and a small decking area with outside furniture. 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed. Good kitchen area but no laundry and no oven- but we managed! Also not allowed bbq‘s on site so bear that in mind. Comfy sofa and tv for chilling out at the end of the day. The check in was superb, with very friendly and helpful staff. There are three pools- two outdoor and one indoor. It was so hot when we visited that we used the outdoor pools. Pools are v busy from 10-12am then 3-7pm there’s a nice quiet window between lunch and 3, so you can go and get a sun lounger and sometimes, have the pool to yourself. Mostly French but a couple of Brits and some Belgians too. This place is central to several supermarkets- E.LeClerc being the largest on the road to St Nazaire. Decathlon on same complex. A smaller Carrefour and Auchan within 5 mins drive. Not much around the complex so you do need a car. No eateries or shops within walking distance but you can order fresh pastries and baguette at reception and they’ll get it ordered for you and you pick it up from reception the next morning. It’s really close to Pornichet town and the beautiful La Baulé beach- 9kms of beautiful sand, sea and beach bars. This place is something else. The French all come here on their hols so you know it’s good! We arrived at 10am and it was quiet. By 3pm it was heaving and we stayed until 5pm - people were still arriving! In all, it’s cheap, cheerful, comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend for families. …
A friend and I rented a house to go to the birthday party of a friend at St Nazaire. The St Nazaire friend suggested this residence, and we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price, the cleanliness and the queitness of the place. The house we rented had two rooms, two loos one wth a bath and the other with a shower. The kitchen was extremely well-equiped. Everything was very convenient. To us, the most amazing thing was that the place was very quiet; I slept like a log at night.
Very nice place to spend holidays with your family. There are 3 pools! A lot of interesting places not far from the residence. It was built about 5-6 years ago and now it is still clean and fresh. Really quiet place. Really good team.
We enjoyed a relaxing family holiday here and the team at Pierre vacances really ensure you are well looked after. The accomodation is very clean and comfortable with 2 pools which were small but adequate. I agree with other comments that a cafe or bar in site would make this a perfect place as there is not much to do in the evenings or for young teenagers. We will definately return as the area in lovely and there was free wifi - always a bonus!
Fed up wuith Centerparcs, kids a bit more independent, or just want to experience a bit more of an authentic holiday? Then try this absolute gem. The apartments are spacious and have balconies or terraces, and you will be left largely to yourself to cater or go out for the many local attractions, Two pools, one indoor, make this a great venue, and each morning your children can practice their French by collecting fresh croissants and pastries from the reception. Excellent staff, unfussy place with good apartment furniture, and very popular with French families. Fly to Nantes as it is a short hop, and hire a car- the back roads are beautiful!
We had great time there. Great quality and facilities with great envirounment Excellent for the price.i would definitly book a room there for another vacation. The staff were very friendly. A great place for kids as well.
