Although looking a little tired, this hotel is a good find. It is located withing walking distance of the cathedral, St. Leu Quarter and plenty of good restaurants. There is some traffic noise as it is situated on a busy street corner - earplugs will be appreciated. The room was small but had high ceilings and large windows so felt...

We lived in 6 budget hotels in France in 8 days, and this was both the cheapest and nicest. Cosy room, nice big windows that could be opened fully, excellent location. Good shower pressure, but with high sensitivity. For that price range, about 54 euro for a double, highly recommended.

After a week in Paris, we headed to Amiens and found the Victor Hugo. We were greeted by this warm welcoming lovely man who was more than accommodating. He was so kind and really took pride in his place. He showed us to our room and made sure our breakfast was secured by asking if we were interested. Since it's...

The hotel is well located and well priced but my experience was not good. There is not lift and the structure of the room is too old. There is no fridge so you are obliged to put your food on the window and the service was not very professional. The receptionist was drunk when I checked in, I could smell...

Reception speaks English if you have problems with French language. However, they appeared uninterested in good service - just gave us the key to our room and pointed us to our room upstairs. The room was confined but comfortable, which suited us. The location was their highlight, being within 2 minutes from Notre Dame cathedral, and 5 minutes walk from...

Our room overlooked the corner below, making us think it would be noisy at night, but it was all right -- busy traffic is a few blocks away. The staff was extremely helpful and understanding in recommending a place to eat and in regard to the placement of our bicycles, there being no way to park them in the street.

I stayed at the Hotel Victor Hugo for 3 nights. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. First of all, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a puncture with our rental and the staff went out of their way to help get it fixed. Second, the breakfasts were very nice and the room where we had it was...

Clean and simple accom, central with great b'fast. Stayed a night late June with family of 5 (3 young teens), 2 rooms. Comfy beds, very good base to explore a gorgeous town. Great service and advice all the way through.

My husband and I stayed in Room 3 for two nights in June 2014. We had a wonderful experience here. The experience first started with Edward. Edward was always quick to answer my emails in advance and offer advice on any questions I had. He was a great help with our stay. He made sure our room was ready and...

This hotel is very close to the Cathedral, and an easy walking distance from St Leu, the train station, and anywhere in the centre of Amiens. I had a simple but adequate and comfortable room up on the top floor. My room faced the street but was fairly quiet (although it's near a road that gets busy at rush hours,...

“Lower floor to avoid carrying luggage upstairs.”

“The room at the bottom near the front door - where my companion stayed - was the roomiest (and probably the more expensive). However, because it was near the road it did get a bit of noise coming off the street. The room I stayed in at the very top of the hotel was small and a bit pokey - though, as I say, very clean and comfortable - but it didn't get any noise at all. It was also a lot cheaper I think. So it is a balance between roominess vs. exposure to street noise.”

“We stayed in two rooms; 6 is ok, Room 9 is very small under the rooftop, but it has everything you need: a good bed, poetry on the wall, bathroom and toilet and a very good price (46 euro high season). Rooms 2 and 10 are very very beautiful! And so is Amiens!”
