Hotel's Favourite
We spent a week in August at Club Med Grand Massif Samoens with 2 babies aged 6 and 17 months. We had a great time there and an amazing experience: - baby club for our 17-month old was great and allowed us to have some free time: the staff was professional, lovely and fun. The place was safe and entirely fitted to welcome a baby.Great selection of toys and activities (swimming, painting, etc.) - the hotel is fully equipped to welcome families with babies: baby food available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, space for babies available in the hotel so babies can play safely, the rooms are very well equipped for babies (great baby crib, baby bathtub, baby changing tables available everywehre in the building, etc) - the GO were super friendly, professional and helpful at all times. They were also very patient and understanding with families with babies. - the activities available in the summer were great, fun and varied. - the food for children/adults was good and varied. - beautiful hotel and astonishing landscapes and surroundings! - overall amazing experience and atmosphere. Highly recommended for families with children (from babies to teennagers!)

This was our third time at the resort. We have driven each time, and the journey up the mountain is beautiful. Club Med Samoen has always been good; we enjoy the skiing, and the instructors and entertainment staff make a real effort, but there were a few things this time that let it down this time: (1) The huge amounts of animal faeces outside the external patio door (room A11) not cleared all week. It meant sitting outside was really unpleasant. I did raise this, but nothing was done. (2) The dark mats on the restaurant tables were filthy, germ-ridden, food engrained and never cleaned. This is a fundamental hygiene issue which is inexcusable. We cannot understand why they are being used, let alone being used, without a strict cleaning regime. (3) The withdrawal of the jacuzzi and reduced pool temperature (without advance warning following our booking) was especially disappointing. We booked the hotel specifically because it had an outside jacuzzi and a lovely pool area. We were looking forward to using both. The pool was far too cold for any enjoyment. The children got in it once and turned blue quickly. (4) The family rooms are basic and miles from anything. Two sets of lifts are required to access any main facilities. The deluxe rooms are much better but they do not have a family two-bedroom option. If you raise any issues with the GM team, do not espect a response. That was our experience this time. Such a shame.

It was our first stay at Club-Med, which we've heard lots of positive feedback about, and we've really looked to this vacation. Unfortunately, the stay was far below our expectations- 1) Those were very hot days, and could only get a small fan that didn't help much. 2) Rooms were small, we were three- But it was always set and cleaned for two, no matter how much we've mentioned it. 3) Food- Was terrible. Repeated- Pretty much the same- Each day, lots of oil in most of the dishes, long queues, dirty plates. If you're a vegetarian- The variety is even worse. The deserts were nice, though. In the 2nd restaurant it was impossible to reserve a seat, so no alternatives within the hotel. 4) GOs- That was the most annoying part. We've ordered the vacation as we were promised that there will be Hebrew speaking GOs when we're there. Indeed there were- But there were so few of them, that eventually all trips and more fun activities- Were sent without Hebrew speaking GOs, and my kids (Non English/French speakers) were very disappointed. Got to say that the Israeli GOs were nice, but there were just so few. 5) Overall, while several staff members were nice, when it came to actual help- We've almost always got the answer that 'it's not them, but someone else' or 'we're understaffed'. This, again, should not be customer's problem. 6) Pool was very small and very crowded. 7) Elevators- You've had to plan for extra time to move between places, as you need to take 2-3 elevators every time. On the positive side- The daily trips, which we've eventually went to, were nice. Also the views from the hotel are great. Bottom line- Not worth the money, well below our expectation and Club-Med's reputation. We will not come back, and will recommend our family and friends to stay away.

Had a nice short stay at club Med, unfortunately the weather turned cold so we likely would’ve had a better time if that wasn’t the case. Great beds, excellent views, very friendly staff and the hotel is immaculate. The pool area is great and the main lobby/entertainment room is fantastic. The alcohol club Med offers for free, is pretty dismal, I’ve stayed at a club Med before, so I knew the deal. Maybe I’m older now and prefer a certain standard of alcohol, but this trip really made me realise how horrible this feature of club meds is, but there are options to upgrade. Food was mixed, we had some great meals but overall we got sick of it after 3/4 days. There is a restaurant option but I found it near impossible to book on the app, and then you could go up at 5pm and speak to them but I just gave up, the hassle factor of booking things wore me out. The entertainment was fun but as it only got going at 9 or 9:30, we found it quite late for our kids, so we only went on two evenings, but the atmosphere was fun and the GO’s are very enthusiastic and talented. Eating at the buffet was a bit painful because of all the kids crying, it’s a very child friendly resort, which again we’ve used in the past to our advantage, when our kids were smaller, but I guess we no longer have to, so that’s not a criticism, just an observation. I can’t say I left feeling like we got full value, but that’s also possibly our kids reluctance to join in with the activities, I think they were happier and less self conscious to mix with the majority of French kids when they were younger, but now that they’re older, it seemed to be a lost battle. One thing I find confusing about the club Med model is the number of GOs they have, I can’t say we had a single conversation with any, they’re all very polite and friendly, saying that some of the fault lay with us from not being fully engaged. So, if you decide on club Med, be fully engaged in their model and activities, it requires effort from both sides. Our only experience before this trip was locations outside of France, so maybe that made a difference, we didn’t feel that integrated being non french, which again, we knew to expect, just felt it a little more here than other locations. One more gripe was the parking is a bit painful, either pay EUR 74 or park in the free parking which is a short walk, not the end of the world, just like the alcohol, annoying. Also, be sure to get your dates right and avoid changes, it’s painful to have to call up and cha get them and it costs you around Euro 50 per person, another club Med quirk.

Some of the rooms in the hotel are very hot during the day and the night, which caused us to not sleep well and be very tired during the vecation. There are limited numbers of fans, which didnt helped so much. The pool is very small for the number of guests, we havent found a place to sit. The room can be located very far from the recetion and dinning room, up to 3 elevators. During the cold days, the hotel offer very poor indoor activity for the family, so the Kids getting bored. The hotel is clean while most of the workers are nice. The terrace is lovely on the summer days with good food and songs. Most of the workers are very nice. A few didnt had any service ability and were very aggresive, what caused us want to leave 2 nights before the date we planed. We cant recommend on this hotel, and wouldn't come back.

I'm deeply disappointed by my recent stay at Club Med Grand Massif. The service and organization were well below expected standards. Main issues: 1. Impersonal Welcome: Check-in lacked warmth, no drink offered and misinformation was given about activity timings. 2. Restaurant and Food Quality: Food quality was below standard, with limited choices, lack of taste and low-quality ingredients with endless queues. Same applies for the afternoon snacks. The worse is probably the Bolognese sauce at the pasta corner, it looked like dish water. 3. Dining Room Cleanliness: Tables were poorly cleaned, and drink service was missed repeatedly. Service level zero; Unfriendly staff 4. Absent Village Chief: The village chief was rarely present and if so at the restaurant he looked more like he was checking on people than greeting them. His attitude affects the general atmosphere. 5. GO Attitude: Negative attitudes among staff impacted overall interaction. Of course there are exception and we met very nice and friendly GO 6. Mini Club: Lack of connection with kids, incorrect information and insufficient outdoor alternatives. Of course endless queues to pick up the children or to register them for a activity 7. Room: Lack of air conditioning and dwindling towel services. 8. Skyline Restaurant: Constantly fully booked, untrained staff and uncomfortable dining area due to no air conditioning 9. Outdoor Activities were cancelled without explanation. My experience fell far below Club Med's reputation. The staff's response to issues was inadequate and GMs shouldn't suffer from poor management. No solutions were offered in response to my complaints, only the justification that "we are understaffed!" This is not my concern, as I paid the full price for my stay. The only positive aspect that shines through for the Club is the excellent quality of the outdoor activities organized by the mountain guides. The contrast with other Club Med villages is concerning. I hope Club Med addresses these issues to restore trust in their brand.

We just spent a memorable week at ClubMed Samoëns, France! From the heavenly decor, to the gourmet food without forgetting the extensive activity choices, ClubMed Samoëns is simply a gem! Our experience was heightened by the outstanding and welcoming staff starting from the personable Chef de Village Olivier, to the lovely spa personnel, Marie and Alice, the receptionists, Yacine and Gilbert, the exceptional photographers Alessio and Diego, the operations staff in particular Hannah, the bar staff Marco and Moussa, the restaurant staff Aissata and Étienne, the boutique staff, to only name a few! We cannot conclude without a shoutout to Partia from the Chalet, whose professionalism and candor has deeply touched us. Thank you to Tom for the giggles!!! Best vacation to date! Yass and Bineta ♥️

Long story short - disappointing. We have spent a lot of money on this trip and it was a 5 out of 10. The location is the best part. The rooms are basic and small, the staff not that friendly, and the food is boring and repetitive. We got private ski classes at ZigZag school ( which was amazing ) because the classes at club med were too crowded. Lastly, we paid for a private transport to the airport and were given a communal one at an hour that we not comfortable for us. Great location, so so service, disappointing food.

This is our first trip with Club Med and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel is set in a beautiful location with breathtaking views of the mountains from every window. We are a family of five, with three children under 6. We had two interconnecting “Superior” rooms, which were perfect for our needs. The two eldest slept in one room with the baby in a cot in our room. The food was delicious. Every meal offered a new and exciting culinary treat and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. We did a few walking excursions around the mountains, which were fabulous. All free and all amazing. There are a lot of other excursions and off site activities to do, but we didn’t do any this time. The best thing about the whole trip was the friendly staff. In particular the G.O. Team. We used the mini club for the two eldest and the baby club for the youngest. This was our first time using childcare on holiday and we thought we only do a couple of hours a day. The kids loved it so much, they spent half the week in full time. The set up is brilliant and the kids got to explore the mountains with new friends. Special mention goes to Salome, Paco and Axel (the rest of the team were all brilliant, but these are the only names I can remember). You made our trip, thank you.
