I have tried the normal rooms and the suites in the past but the Chalets are just another level. I was speechless coming in. My kids and I loved our stay, the breakfasts, the boardgames, the kid size bathrobes, the little attentions. It was heaven for a week!
In the main club, I'd say the gym needs a little bit of investment and a bit more vegetarian options in the main restaurant would have been perfection. But overall, I'd go back in a heartbeat!

What can we say. Well if you want an experience that consistently exceeds expectations then this is the place for you. We started our summer holidays here just as everything reopened after COVID restrictions and CLUB Med delivered everything they promised. Once again, the kids club is just amazing. Our 3 year old could not wait to go into petite club med every morning which allowed myself and my husband to go on many of the self-guided walks both in the Samoens village (free gondola to the village) and around the resort. Our two bedroom chalet was more than comfortable and the details which the staff went to were outstanding. Eg. They provided a potty, two bed guards, high chair, breakfast suitable for a child and adults, transfers that included a child seat and inscriptions at the conciergerie. The transfer drivers were also so personable as well as our butler who attended to our every need. Evidently, this is due to the management of Ines, the exclusive collection/chalet manager. Her attention and professionalism were more than notable and we can't wait to come back in couple of years to stay with her and her team (special mention to Alice) in the winter.

Club Med Grand Massif Apartments Chalets is just amazing accomodation and concept of having the private challet and also full scale of the services from the all inclusive hotel. We had a really good time from the start to the end of our stay. It started by welcoming us at the private lounge for the challet quests with the Champagne. While we were there our luggage was delivered to the challet. After that driver took us there which takes only few minutes. We loved the place, cleanninges and overall atmosphere. Maria who took care of us while being at the challet was charming preparing breakfast for us every morning and making sure we have all the comfort possible. Our kids liked the space inside, plenty of inspiration for many games. At the main hotel the food was really excelent and we also enjoyed the pool (both inside and outside). The thing which we missed a bit was some kid's playground both inside and outside the hotel where the kids can play just themselves without the need to subscribe them to mini or petit Club. We think that this is missing in general in ClubMed hotels and it is a bit strange considering how much investment and effort they spend on the other things which are really superb. Overall our holidays were great and we are already thinking of coming back at some time in the future.

We stayed at the private chalets and couldn’t be happier. It was a 3 bedroom private chalet each with its own bathroom and balcony.
The kitchen was fully equipped and stocked with snacks, fruit and drinks. We had our own butler service and felt extremely pampered.
We also utilized all of the main facilities with a spa, gym, lounges and dining areas. Loved it all!

We knew we had made the right choice the minute we arrived at the “little chalet”. The whole team were there to greet us and made our check in super easy. A nice glass of champagne was a welcome addition after a long drive. From that moment on our experience couldn’t have been better. Joely and Zoe were always on hand to welcome us and guide us in the right direction. Zoe helped us with all the registrations and we found all our ski gear waiting for us in our chalet designated locker room. Joely was always there in the morning to welcome us in the ski locker and ply us with coffee before heading out.
The food was exceptional, the whole resort runs like a well oiled machine. It’s hard to justify how all the GO’s are so friendly and helpful all the time but they are. It truly is a great place for families and we never once felt that our kids weren’t in great hands.
Coming home to our chalet that was staffed by Sofia was always a welcome treat. Sofia was fantastic and went so far as to print some coloring pictures for the kids because they said they liked king fu panda. It’s the small details that really set a place apart and club med has nailed it. A big shout out to Sofia, Joely, Zoe, Benjamin and Boris as well as all the GO’s in the mini club for making this a holiday to remember fondly.

Excellent facilities and activities in a modern Club Med resort

The quality and choice of food on offer was not as good as that on offer on my visits pre Covd.

Good cycling and excellent service.

Windows in the gym to enjoy the views would be good.

We have just come back from a ski week in the chalet apartments at Club Med Grand Massif and can’t recommend highly enough. After a slight hiccup with our transfer from the airport on arrival (had to wait over an hour for transfer), it all went fabulously. The chalets are a wonderful home from home and added perks make for a very relaxing holiday. Ski tuition was fabulous, food amazing and the staff looking after the chalet guests couldn’t have been more helpful.

Highly recommend

We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 teenaged boys. We are platinum members for years at Club Med although we are not the typical Club Med members as we are looking for tranquility and privacy. We chose Club Med anyway as we like their Exclusive Collection, the food and the sports on offer.

This Christmas holidays we spent 2 weeks in Samoens- le Grand Massif one of their Exclusive Collection resorts, where we stayed in the Chalets. We had spent some (very nice) holidays already in one of their other ski Exclusive Collection resort, Valmorel. However as Valmorel is not that high up in the mountains we wanted to try Samoens.

What is our feeling after these 2 weeks? We were right about the snow. The Club is ideally located very close to the lifts, Ecole de Ski Francaise,… and we had snow the whole 2 weeks which was not the case in the other parts of the Alps. Renting of ski equipment is very easy and well organized within the Club. The same can be said about the ski lessons.
The other activities are rather limited but OK, there is for instance a nice (small) swimming pool, a well equiped fitness room focused on cardio. My wife and I are not skiers and so we did our daily hiking. A tip: there are not that many hiking trails up in the mountains (there are in Valmorel), but if you take the ski lift to the valley next to the hotel, there are many nice hiking trails.

For what concerns the food, the main restaurant is nice but the food is ‘moutainee’. Meaning, there is a lot but it is all very heavy and rich. If you are more into light and healthy food the choice is limited. There is also a Sky Lounge Restaurant but the chef and the maitre d’hotel are openly and loudly arguing with each other as if they were part of a Gordon Ramsay show.

However our main disappointment was the whole Exclusive Collection part. The chalets are nice, have beautiful views and are away from the hotel so we had perfect nights. But the chalets in Valmorel offer more space and have bigger (bath)rooms.

However, everything else was a disaster. We were supposed to have breakfast in the chalet but during the 14 days there was not 1 day where we got what we had ordered for (which was nothing exceptional BTW). On 2 days in a row they even managed to deliver our breakfast to the chalet next door where nobody was staying, even though we had complained to the COO of the Club the first time. They also forgot to set our table for breakfast on most of the days.

We were also entitled to snacks at 4.00 pm. Half of the time they were not delivered.

In the evening, guests of the chalets are entitled to champagne and appetizers. Even though people staying in the hotel got them, guests of the chalets only get a bowl of nuts and some paté and bread with a bottle of champagne in our chalet. In the end, we ended up taking the appetizers in the hotel and had a seat in the Little Chalet which is the place where people from the Chalet can relax and have some private time.

What else was a disaster? We asked for a fixed table in the restaurant like some many other do. After 4 requests to the hosts of the chalets, we got it organized ourselves directly with the director of the restaurant. The same is true about spa appointments.

There is enough staff but is clear that they lack training, experience, supervision, follow-up, ... Only exception are Ali (the waiter in the Little Chalet, thanks so much Ali!!!) and the drivers of the vans. Ludivine (head of the chalets), we know that you are very kind and you like to entertain your guests, but your priority should be the management of the chalets. When guests arrive you should have a checklist to make sure that you know what your clients want (e.g. double check their breakfast, check timing of breakfast, timing of cleaning the chalet, do you need a table in the restaurant, should we open an account, are the badges set according to the length of the stay of a guest, ...). If they have complaints, please make sure to address them AND TO FOLLOW UP. For the moment, Gordon Ramsay could make 2 episodes of his show reviewing the service offered at the chalets.
It is not rocket science because in Valmorel, Dominican Republic, Mauritius, ... we never encountered this total lack of service.
