Although this villa is among other buildings it does not feel like it. As soon as you walk/drive through the gate it gives you a Wow factor. It is very well positioned and easy with the free bus as it arrives almost outside the villa. They will also take you to the lift and pick you up if you want. Shops and restaurants are just up the road. We were lucky enough to have Daniel as our chef, cooked superb meals and what a lovely guy he is too. Selina and the whole team there are great, pleasant and helpful. We will be back.

On our previous visit to Villa Rose, we were the last guests of the season. This time we were the first, arriving just before Christmas. You'll probably get the idea that our swift return meant we liked it. You'd be right. It's still by a street the finest ski experience I've ever enjoyed in over three decades of winter holidays. The accommodation, food and service are impeccable. Only two things had changed. Firstly, there has been the welcome addition of an outside hot tub. Just the thing to soothe those aching limbs after a day on the slopes. And a glass of de rigeur Champagne while bathing helps the recovery process along wonderfully. There was also a new chef. Dan, who impressed us so much on our last trip, has been succeeded by...Dan. To avoid confusion, we'll adopt karate terms and call them First Dan and Second Dan. First Dan was a skilled professional chef who prepared superb cuisine based on our admittedly tricky requirements. Second Dan has brought, if such a thing were possible, a further dimension to the cooking. Clever ideas like an Italian-influenced menu one night will live long in the memory. But the real showstopper came after the conversation for some reason turned to Greek food. Second Dan, it turned out, was originally from the island of Rhodes. "I'll cook you a Greek table if you like," he volunteered. That turned out to be our best decision of all time. Every individual dish was a culinary treat of the first rank, the overall menu a sublime creation. The wine glasses were frequently topped up, so by the end we were feeling life doesn't get much better than this Away from the kitchen, there is much to recommend in Villa Rose. Great location, staff who can't do enough to help, and rooms furnished to the highest standard. Can't wait for our third trip.

My husband and I are just back from a fantastic 5 night stay at Villa Rose. We had such a wonderful time. The hotel was beautiful, tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. On arrival, we received a very warm welcome from Daniel and Marion who were delightful hosts and made sure we had a brilliant stay. The breakfasts in the morning were superb, the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. We had dinner 3 nights at the Villa. Daniel, the chef, prepared such flavoursome and fantastic meals, he really is a brilliant chef. Marion was extremely helpful and took great care of us throughout our stay. The location of Villa Rose is great, it is only seconds walk from the lovely shops and restaurants in Samoens and there are so many beautiful hikes in the area to choose from with stunning scenery all round. We stayed in the Champagne Room, it was lovely and the bed was so comfortable. We would love to come back and visit during ski season too. Thank you very much for a great holiday!!!

Lovely villa with a great concept. Chef, staff, jacuzzi and ski support of your own. The service is very personalised. Food was amazing, a great weekend getaway. The villa is very close to the ski drop off area. Transport is easily arranged by the villa for pick up to and from at anytime.

We stayed three nights in the Champagne Room. Villa Rose enjoys a fabulously central location in Samoens and has been beautifully renovated... but the highlight of our stay was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, from organising ski-passes to meeting us at the bottom of the ski-lift each day. Marianne and Isobel were perfect hosts and Daniel is simply the finest cook we have ever had in a ski resort (well, in any resort actually!) - his bisque has already had good press here but you really do need to taste how good it is! We'll definitely be back for another visit. Highly recommended!

Villa Rose sets the standard for what a Boutique Hotel should be. This impressively renovated village villa is eccentrically furnished to a very high standard. It's quirky and PiNk! The service is exceptionally delivered by staff who genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. The Villa Rose is one minute's walk from the main street of Samoens which is historic and not just a ski resort village. Good bars and restaurants. You can opt for evening meals at Villa Rose. You MUST do this. Daniel, the resident chef is completely aMaZiNg. Not only is this an intimate experience because Daniel is preparing your meal in the open-plan kitchen-dining-room, his food is SeRiOuSlY well thought out and of the highest quality. You feel privileged to be there and to eat his creations. I'm not exaggerating! The staff will take you to the local lifts in the morning and collect you whenever you call in the evening, which is great. There is a free bus service to within 50m from the door anyway. It is our first time to the Grand Massif and we did plenty of miles over 5 days. There is lots of Off-Piste and Ski-touring available too if you are more hard-core. We really liked the mountain guides at Zig-Zag who have a shop on the main street 100m away from Villa Rose. We were overall impressed with the ski-area and the variety for all standards. It was very busy on the slopes as it was school holidays. Samoens is just over an hour away by transfer (go-massif.com), so a weekend is very possible. Villa Rose is worth absolutely every penny you pay if it is within your budget.
