It’s an exciting time for the Inn at Kingsbarns: As part of an ambitious project to revitalise The Inn and create more facilities for the village, it has been purchased as a community buyout by the Kingsbarns Community Development Trust and is now under new leadership with General Manager Mark Lewis, at the helm, who is looking forward to extending a warm welcome to everyone. The Inn is already a popular destination with the local community and guests from further afield. It will maintain its standing as a traditional, charming village Inn within the coastal village of Kingsbarns. The Inn has five deluxe ensuite bedrooms, which consist of two-family rooms sleeping four persons with a king-size bed and two single beds, two deluxe king-size rooms and one super king-size room. All our beds have Egyptian cotton bedding, excellent Wi-Fi connections, comfy chairs, flat screen TVs, mini fridge.

Detailed Reviews
The wee Inn situated in the East Neuk of Fife is a perfect stop over. Owners Annette and Max take hosting levels to a high with them even giving us a lift to a party nearby and organising transport home. A complimentary birthday drink and chocs added to us feeling spoilt.
Rooms are all different sizes and shapes but good value whatever room you end up in. Nice bed linen and comfy beds as well as great shower. Coffee and biscuits in the room are a nice touch.
Breakfast was really good considering that this is just a small wee hotel. Fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries and a lovely selection of hot dishes too! Annette coming in to wish us good morning was a lovely personal touch and it was these touches that made the stay special. Can highly recommend

Lovely Inn, Annette and her staff made us feel safe and very welcome, room was excellent, food was great and there's a nice walk down to the beach to work up an appetite. Even with the Covid restrictions I think they handled it perfectly, very clean and we never felt unsafe, with staggered sittings for food so never overcrowded. Breakfast was fabulous and very filling. Bar had plenty of whiskies and gins and a good atmosphere. Lovely place to stay to get the best of the area, particularly St.Andrews and Anstruther which are both beautiful and perfectly accessible from Kingsbarns.........You couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Fife and we can't wait to get back for a longer stay.

Just arrived home from a 4 night stay at The Inn at Kingsbarns where we based to dip into the Dunhill Cup 2021 and also to have some relaxation time, what a gem we found. Max & Annette could not do more to make our stay perfect, our room was beautiful, completely covid safe as immaculately cleaned, perfect tea and coffee facilities in the room also with fridge and one of the best showers we have ever used. Being dog people to our delight we met Harris the Inns 15 month old retriever a stunning boy who just loves everyone, and yes our bags had to be checked on the way out. Breakfast choice was extensive and on Friday there was a barbecue, the quality of the food was wonderful (I am vegetarian and I was very well catered for, loved my options). The location of the Inn is fantastic very easy to jump onto a bus to surrounding areas and the walk to the beach is just ten minutes away. We will definitely be back to chill in the bar with fantastic hosts who are lovely people to spent time with.

Dear Revieweee Many Moons of thanks for a Fantastico Review of our Wee Countryside Hotel. When you live in such a wonderful part of Scotland and meet wonderful People such as yourself it makes running a Wee Hotel all that more enjoyable, especially during these horrible Covid 19 times. Aha and yes I agree with you both, what indeed is not to like when have a powerful Hot Shower to wake you up in the morning before coming down for a full and varied Scottish Breakfast and then a daunder through the Village and down to a truly gorgeous Beach for Families and their Dogs. Harris says Woof Woof.. Maxx.

After looking for somewhere to stay in St Andrews for a couple of nights during the school holidays we were a little disappointed with how expensive it would be, and then we came across The Inn at Kingsbarns, much more cost effective and only 7 miles out of St Andrews. The bus stops almost outside the Inn so it is super easy to get around if you don't want to drive.
The room was a lovely size with double and two single beds (which were very comfortable) and more than enough space. Coffee and tea facilities and proper milk! One thing we often find disappointing when staying away is the shower - but not here! It was fantastic!
Our added bonus was gorgeous Harris, the 15 month old retriever who lives at the Inn! We are dog lovers and since we didn't take our dogs (although the Inn is dog friendly) we loved our cuddles with Harris, especially our 9 year old son!
Annette and Maxx were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
Looking forward to the next stay.

Dear Revieweee Many Moons of thanks for a wonderful review of our wee Hotel in the Countryside. Aha the Fantastico Shower, yes indeed we installed a new Heating/Hot water system in 2019 and WOW it certainly has Power to wake you up for the start of a new day in Kingsbarns. Proper Milk, sometimes we forget about the little things that we do daily in the Hotel Rooms and Bar and Fresh Proper Milk being notice is greatly appreciated. I will tell Harris that you are coming back to Cuddle him again and as you know we check all our Guests Luggage when they leave to make sure Harris our Golden Retriever is not in it, ha ha.. Maxx

We stayed at the inn at kingsbarns and had a lovely time, Annette and the team were welcoming and friendly especially little Harris. They had all the necessary COVID precautions in place and the room was clean and spacious with plenty of storage.
It’s an ideal location for getting to a stunning beach for dog walks and other places to visit in fife such as St Andrew’s, Elie & Anstruther.
Breakfast was lovely plenty of choice from yoghurts, cereals to a cooked breakfast, good quality meat and amazing poached eggs. Freddie our dog especially enjoyed his sausage.
We will definitely be returning but with golf clubs next time 🏌️♂️ as I’m sure my husband wished he had taken his this time.
Thanks for having us see you soon.
Nicole, Sam & Freddie.

After our foreign weekend plans were cancelled due to the Corana virus, my friends and I booked this hotel at the last minute and were delighted with our decision. Anette and Maxx were the perfect hosts, detailing how we can get to the local attractions and into St Andrews. The room was beautiful, spacious and excellent value for money. Breakfast in the morning was fit for Kings and Queens and Anette even personally cooked two separate breakfasts for my vegetarian and vegan friend.
Wish we could more than 5 stars and we will definitely return.
Thank you for saving our weekend.

Second time we have stayed and simply prefect in everyday.
Firstly it is located ina truly wonderful part of the world, a short drive to St Andrews and close proximity to many wedding venues (purpose of our trip on both occasions).
The hotel itself its perfectly proportioned, the rooms are decorated to a high standard and the little touches with a fridge with drinks, snacks and Toiletries mean you'll be very comfortable during your stay.
There's a bar area serving a selection of drinks and great beers on tap. Next door there's a room where food is served which is always very tasty and proper home cooked food.
Above all though is the service that makes your stay at The Inn at Kingsbarns memorable. For example we arrived early evening and asked on the off chance a spare table was free for dinner. Initially we were informed there was (completely understandable) but moments later were informed due to a cancellation they could accommodate. We had a fish pie (best I've ever tasted) and sticky toffee pudding!
We told them we were there for a wedding and Annette offered to drive us and drop us off. Above and beyond service and truly appreciated.
We will return many times I am sure and I truly can't recommend enough

Stayed for 3 nights over New Year. This is one of our favourite areas of Scotland and it was perfect weather for walking miles on the beaches along the East Coast, then returning to the Inn for some wonderful home cooking.
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, immaculately clean, with a very well stocked tea/coffee tray. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice, as was the home cooked evening meal selection. The steak pie was delicious!
The Inn is about a mile walk to Kingsbarns beach, which we walked to, to welcome in the New Year. Will definitely return when in need of our next fix of Fife.

We stayed here when visiting Cambo snowdrop festival. I had been for dinner on a previous visit and had a lovely meal. The rooms were beautifully decorated with lovely tea coffee etc available.
As we arrived on a Sunday had a delicious roast beef dinner and had a drink in the bar. Lovely hosts very friendly and had a fun time.
There was a lovely courtyard garden that would be perfect in summer..February obviously not used.
Breakfast was buffet style with everything you could want ...I particularly loved the spinnach mushroom and sundried tomato frittatta .
Had another lovely meal the following evening absolutely gorgeous beef stroganoff. Top class home cooking.
Its a nice base to visit St Andrews and the coast .
Highly recommend for either a long or short stay.

We got a lovely, friendly welcome to the Inn from Annette and were shown to a gorgeous room (no 3) that had lots of space, extremely clean, a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom with a shower and bath. Very, very happy with everything.
Breakfast was excellent - great choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit and hot food. We twice had an evening meal in the bar area. Excellent - particularly the salmon - and all served piping hot. Thank you, Annette.
The Inn is set in a quiet, picturesque village close to numerous golf courses, Kingsbarns beach, the Cambo Estate and only a short drive from St Andrews. The Inn is a great base to explore the rest of the surrounding area. Plenty of parking on site. Unfortunately the weather was dreadful during our stay but there is a lovely garden area to be enjoyed on better days.

Dear Reviewee Many Moons of thanks for a Truly Fabulous Review of our Wee Inn at Kingsbarns, I will certainly pass on you comments to Annette my Wife about her Breakfasts and Evening Meals and also to Suzy our Head House keeper on your comments about our Rooms. We decided last year before the Horrible Covid 19 outbreak happened to Cook Dinner Primarily for our Own Guests as we decided not to employ any Chefs/Cooks so we have Six Rooms and Six Dinning Tables, ! yea quite easy Maths i suppose. Annette has only so many Hands (including Me ) and with Keiran helping Annette in the Kitchen and Bethany serving our Guests in the Bar and Snug we hope you found Annette's Meals and our combined service enjoyable and relaxing and come back again to see us.. I’m sorry, we didn’t stay st the Inn but had dinner here. After train Scotland for 10 days, most inns accommodate your timing. Of course, your delicious tea is available any time!! Please ask the Inn this question...and if their breakfast is anything like our dinner, you won’t be disappointed at all!
Yes we are just 3mins by car or 15 min walk
