Did the Palace tour from the hostel, which was one of the best things I did in Australia. The campsite was basic but was a good environment for everyone to make friends. Throughout the day, everyone with a valid driving license got the opportunity to drive the 4WD around the island. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and good fun. Fraser...

Had such a great time on Fraser Island with Palace! Was so worried after reading the reviews that it would be terrible, but seriously - you have nothing to worry about!! Palace hostel is pretty decent, with a good communal area and a good kitchen, although slightly on the small side. Accommodation on Fraser itself is basic: a tent to...

Had the absolute time of my life on Fraser Island last month! Stayed in Palace the night before and the night after my trip. The hostel was a standard hostel, beautifully close to the beach! The staff were friendly (shoutout to Sharmaine). The tour was great, camping so close to the beach is amazing! Loved it.

Arriving at the Palace Hostel in Hervey bay, the staff was super friendly, the rooms clean and organisation good as well. We had a super funny Tourguide who told us loads of interesting stuff about Fraser Island and he was always up for a laugh. Amazing Island and i really enjoyed camping on the beach!

We booked our Fraser Island tour via Greyhound and thought it would be decent with them being a reputable company - how wrong were we! The hostel is dirty (our dorm floor and bathroom didn't get cleaned once the whole time we were there - a total of 3 nights!), the kitchen is small and cramped and the staff are...

Bought our package for Fraser Island tour through Indie Travels in Cairns. The hostel is very basic and actually dirty. I've stayed in a lot of hostels in Auatralia and this was one of the worst. As the campsite on the island was described as a 'permanent campsite' we assumed there might be toilets/showers/BBQ's as with most campsites. There were...

*January 2015* We stayed here before and after the Fraser island trip, when we turned up we didn't have a room (even tho we had booked all our trips through Wicked Travel) They wouldn't contact Wicked travel to try resolve this, they left us to sort it out, which was rather annoyed as we had just driven up in horrendous...
