We stayed overnight in this charming, old guest-house in late October 2016. The room was clean and comfortable. The owners were gracious and very nice. The included breakfast had a nice selection of items and the restaurant area was nicely memorable and comfortably reflected the age and history of the building. The location just off the main square made it...

Miltenberg is a truly charming little town with a castle perched over the old town of half-timbered houses nestled right on the banks of the Main River. It is well worth a stop-over. There are great hiking trails, very nice shops on the main street and it is really romantic. And the most romantic place to stay in this delightful...

Pros: beautiful location, fantastic breakfast, helpful staff, excellent room service. Cons: the bells, no AC, very old windows Details: Beautiful, very old building right on the square by the Schnatterloch and fountain and across the street from the city museum. Within walking distance to pretty much everything. Lots of tourists taking photos with the hotel in the background. Breakfast is...

"Schmuckkaestchen", as has been noted, means jewelry box, and as has also been noted, the name fits the hotel. We had a beautiful room on the first floor, looking out on the street. The location at one end of the primary shopping street was very convenient. The breakfast room was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and the breakfast was ample...

We were visiting just before the Christmas Market began in town, so many streets were blocked off which made the drive into the center of town difficult. It took a while to find this hotel, even with the help of a GPS, but were pleasantly surprised when we saw the charming exterior. We dropped off our bags, got a parking...

During the years of being a tour escort, I stood at the fountain in the square of Miltenberg and listened to the guide tell the history of this fantastic, preserved town on the Main River. I looked up at the beautiful, old oriel windows of the Schmuckkaestchen Hotel and vowed someday I would return and sit there. In May I...

We visited Miltenberg in August and enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Schmuckkästchen Hotel. The rooms were updated to modern baths. The rooms were surprisingly large for such an old building and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was in their quaint café with an enormous selection of goodies. Most of all, the owners were so very helpful and kind. They wanted...

This hotel is very special. We booked a stay in the suite over Easter and loved every moment from checking in, to the fantastic breakfast in the morning. Our room was spacious and clean and well decorated. The owners spoke little English, but communication was easy enough. We love Miltenberg and we will be back!
