The best castle experience hotel we can imagine. Room was very nice with "only in a castle" touches such as an undersized door leading to the bathroom. A very central place to stay and explore the region. Food was absolutely fantastic. You can opt just for the main course (which is plenty) or the 4 course dinner. If you stay...

The staff was nice, and there was golf cart for luggage (and 1 passenger) pick up service. Our room 36 is at the top with balcony, everything was awesome even the size is not big. We also enjoyed the wine pairing dinner with clear explanation of them. Travelers who like the medieval style cannot miss this hotel.

The dinner was one of our best during this vacation. The local wines with each course (at an additional cost) were outstanding and not to be missed. Mr Huttl came by the table and gave us an overview of the local vineyards. The next morning we were leaving before the normal breakfast service but the staff arrived early just to...

We stayed in the castle for 3 days in 2015. Absolutely incredible. I can't wait to go back. Next time, we will rent a car as it is a long walk up the mountain to get to the castle. We stayed over a holiday and there was only one taxi running. We had to wait over an hour to get...

Sure, it's a little pricey, but you try making the mortgage payment on a castle and see what that's like! This place was worth every penny. From the moment you come around the corner and see the castle on the hill you immediately realize what a treat you're in for. Upon arriving you are greeted with the warmest of hosts....

We traveled with 5 people. Stayed in room 31, it was really neat!! Very old castle hotel. Our kids thought it was the coolest ever to stay in a 1000 year old castle! The suite had a main room as well as two separate rooms for the kids, and the price was reasonable for all that space. VERY clean!

My husband and I spent five nights in Room 13 in October 2016. We found this hotel/castle to be everything you might hope for and dream about when planning a stay in an authentic castle. The room rate includes half-board--lovely buffet breakfast and a formal sit-down dinner. The castle facilities and furnishings are traditional, formal, perhaps a bit stuffy but...

This hotel is everything you could want if you like hiking around looking at beautiful scenery. It is also a luxury hotel that provides 5 star accommodations and has a nice restaurant. When you check the place out the prices might seem high but keep in mind that not only are you getting a fabulous huge room with a private...

WE arrived late in the evening were shown to our room and quickly went down to enjoy an incredible dinner. Was fun to get lost in a castle before finding restaurant. Server was so friendly and recommended a great wine to go with our dinner. Breakfast buffet was perfectly delicious. Our room at the top of the tower was so...

We were a family of six: three kids ages 13, 11 and 9, myself and my husband and my mother who is in her 70s. We stayed in the Barbarossa Suite, room 31 (used to be 32, but changed). I made this reservation 11 months out. It's the farthest out I have ever made a reservation before and because of...
