Beautifully located on the shore of Tegernsee, this historical hotel is a gem itself among the beauties of the lake. Cozy and warm, wood and carpet everywhere. A little bit old but well maintained. The restaurant is good and open until 10 pm. It is really on the lake shore, just cross the road. Beautiful small town within walking distance.

There was certainly a time in the past when this hotel was more brilliant, but it seems the place is stuck in the past. A great location on the lake, but the inside is all a bit tatty. The staff on the reception were trainees with no clue. The stay was comfortable, but overpriced for the offer.

The 3* are perhaps not completely justified because the Hotel offers a lot. However - the Hotel looks tired and is living on it's glorious past times. But the prices are still on the very pricey side. This is not a good match! The good things: The rooms (although old fashioned) are good and the bathroom (although very outdated) have... More

We broke a drive from Tuscany to Berlin with a night at the Bachmair hotel, which I got at an excellent rate with a bit of help from google....When we arrived, it was clear that the hotel was much better than expected, with a beautiful, spacious room, an exceptional bathroom and a great wellness/spa/swimming pool. Our rooms even had a... More

The hotel is very much living on past glory for a shrinking crowd of pensioners. A few cranky staff wander the halls and the maintenance is good, but the sheer longevity of the furnishings and business model leave it very feeling dated and worn. That said, the location is nice and (almost) everything is in good order. Service was less... More

…but as first impressions go, it could be. Bachmair appears to be cobbling together a number of properties on the block under the name Bachmair am See (there is also the Bachmair-Weißach at the other end of town), so the room I was given was previously in the Park Hotel, accessible by underground passageway… and several long hallways … to... This is a large hotel that consists of many traditional Bavarian style buildings. Our rooms faced the lake and the view was terrific. The breakfast buffet was excellent, providing an over the top selection. The rooms are large and comfortable. The only suggestion is that the rooms and lobbies could use some updating.
