Great service, great hotel, great location, great views. Small enough to feel cosy, and big enough to have a superb spa and pool. François and the team were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The train to the lift takes you there in a few minutes with no stress.
Accommodation type: Privilege Suite (Suite # 205) Date: 16 October 2021 – 17 October 2021 Number of Nights: 1 night Number of Guests: 2 Adults ============== Overall impression: 10/10 This is my second time in Champéry and first time in the amazing Hotel National Resort & Spa . The hotel is renovated with a contemporary Alpine style. It takes around 2 hours of a great drive from Geneva airport to the hotel. The Hotel has around 16 accommodations and an outside swimming pool. Staffs are very supportive. I was surprised when I found an elevator in the hotel. The hotel provides free parking (down the road) and an outstanding service quality. Because we are Muslims, they bought special halal meat for us. Especial thanks to Laetitia who contributed to our 100% satisfaction and made us feeling we were in the heaven. Many thanks to François who supported us and provided a great service. This is the place where you will definably not regret to stay at. Shops are around the hotel and the mountain view is astonishing and breath taking. We were offered free tickets for the cable car. ============== Here is my detailed review: • Hotel location: 10/10 The Mountain view is astonishing. You will have a grocery shop which is 1 minutes away from the hotel. Many shops around you. The cable-car station is nearby the hotel (2 minute drive). ============== • Design and Atmosphere: 10/10 ============== • Check In: 10/10 very quick • Check Out: 10/10 very quick ============== • Staff Attitude and hospitality: 10/10 Staffs are very friendly, smiling, polite and supportive. They will never hesitate to offer any help. For example, Laetitia, François and the lady in the restaurant (who does speak only French). ============== • Cleanness and Housekeeping: 10/10 ============== • Service and Response: 10/10 I am totally impressed with the response time. We requested iron and iron board which arrived immediately. Many thanks to François ============== • Room Size, Condition, and Amenities: 10/10 The Privilege Suite is 44m2 in size. It was in the second floor. It has three balconies, out of which two are facing the mountain and you can enjoy the view from your own bed. There are two TV’s, one in the main bedroom and the second one is in the living room. There is fridge, free water, and sofa for 4 people. ============== • Bath: 9/10 Main bathroom is separated from the toilet and it has a bathtub as well as shower area. There is no water shut off unfortunately, like most of the hotels in Europe. ============== • Quietness: 9/10 The privilege Suite is located in the second floor. Sometime you would hear some sound from the swimming pool and the bells from the church. However, the place is extremely quite after 6pm. If you are a light sleeper, you will never have any issue and will have a deep sleep. ============== • Bed Convenience: 9/10 ============== • Internet: cannot rate it as I have not used it ============== • Food and restaurant: 8/10 We tried the buffet breakfast which was simple and a dinner. We cannot thank them enough for bringing special halal meat for us (many thanks to Laetitia). Cheese plate is great. We also tried the pasta with tomato sauce. You must try the Scramble egg is great. You should try the apple pie. Honey is very delicious. Location of the restaurant should be given 10/10 which has a great view of the mountain. ============== • Gym: not tried (cannot be rated) – if any! ============== • Swimming Pool: not tried ============== • Parking and Concierge: 10/10 Free parking available on-site (down the road). ============== • Price: 8/10 Many thanks to Laetitia who offered us a discount of 10% ============== Service quality 10/10 as per the following Dimensions: - TANGIBLES: 10/10 - RELIABILITY: 10/10 - RESPONSIVENESS: 10/10 - ASSURANCE: 10/10 - EMPATHY: 10/10 ============== Special thanks to the following people who have contributed to our great satisfaction: - Ms. Laetitia (booking, check in, arrangement for special event, bring halal food, service in restaurant, etc.) - Mr. François (services, support and check out) ==================== • Overall Impression: 5/5 I highlight recommended Hôtel National Resort & Spa. Select Privilege Suite which has the mountain view and you will never regret your stay. I will come back when I visit Switzerland next time.…
An absolute delight! All the staff were so welcoming. We felt at home directly from day 1 and could not ask for a better view from our beautiful Suite. I will definitly recommend this stunning place to anyone wanting to have a sweet escape in the Wallis mountains. We will be back!
We stayed there for a week-end with my wife. The staff was extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. And the place beautiful and clean. We loved it. It feels like a small hotel, the house it's very big, there isn't a huge lobby etc, so it's more a place to stay in peace, rather than to boast. But then, everything is clean, amazingly well thought. It was really a pleasure to stay there. The SPA is small. It's not a place where you will see a lot of people. On the contrary, it's a place where you will be quite, possibly by your own, enjoying the sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, the swimming pool, or one of the beds to rest outside, or inside, just behind the window with a marvellous view on the mountains.
This is a great hotel at a fair price, rooms are good and clean, bedding is comfortable and breakfast is great. Visited at least 4 times and was always satisfied. However in post corona times the spa is a real health hazard. Although the hotel implemented a 8 people max rule, some guests do not follow it and in addition make noise and get served drinks in the jacuzzi....so the staff is actually collaborating in rule breaching. Forget the idea of cocooning and safe haven. Hotel National has lost it.
Where to start? The service is outstanding!! We were given a tour of the hotel when we arrived, which was great! We were showed the spa area and ski storage. Also, we were shown how to work the different amenities in the room. This is important...the window coverings were just amazing! Maybe this is common in Switzerland, but not in the USA. You could completely black out the room and it also kept sound out. The free breakfast each morning was delicious and service was excellent. The views from the hotel are just breathtaking!! Now...the spa area. We had the entire place to ourselves and not sure why. I have no words to describe the most beautiful views I've ever seen! They have a giant hot tub, several steam areas, a cold water area and of course, the infinity pool, which is heated to body temp. You can call the front desk and have cocktails delivered to the spa. That was one of the best days of my life -- thank you!…
A very stylish and comfortable small hotel with excellent service. A member of staff was at the railway station to meet us when we arrived which was a nice touch. We had a room with mountain views which was breathtaking. The room was spacious with a beautiful en-suite shower room, balcony and complimentary mini bar with soft drinks. The hotel didn't offer evening meals but did include buffet breakfast which was delicious. The spa facilities were very good though the treatment prices were expensive. We particularly enjoyed the heated outdoor infinity pool with amazing views and plenty of comfy seating to relax and enjoy the scenery. The staff were so polite and helpful, I thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet escape out of ski season.
I stayed at the hotel in September with my mum for three days for a short getaway. The hotel was beautiful and the view is simply stunning. The spa area is amazing and stylish, again with fabulous views! We were greeted at the train station by a very polite member of staff, who shared information about the local area. After less than a 5 minute journey, we were met with two glasses of champagne in the beautiful bar area overlooking the mountains. Our room was beautiful and had plenty of space. There was no tea or coffee facilities, which would be my only negative comment, but we weren't too fussed. The train journey from Geneva airport did take about 2.5 hours and you needed to change train, but it was worth the journey! As we stayed in September, we found that the local area was very quiet, a lot of the restauarnts and bars were closed, so we did not have much choice for dining in the evening. We loved our stay here and will definietly be staying again! :) …
The hotel is in a superb location on the main road through Champery. There is parking almost immediately opposite the hotel which you need to pay to use, however we parked for free directly behind the hotel. However, if you use a wheelchair the free car park probably wouldn't be suitable due to the very steep hill that you have to walk up to get back to the hotel reception. The staff are extremely friendly and are competent English speakers. We were provided with a complimentary drink on arrival before being shown to our room, which was a deluxe room on the mountain side of the hotel. If you have the opportunity, this is the more picturesque side of the property to stay in. The room itself is very well furnished and very clean (as is the hotel in general). There are plenty of features in the room, such as electric blinds and shutters in the bedroom and bathroom, a mini bar that is complimentary and is restocked daily with water and soft drinks, free wi-fi and a TV with a lot of channels if you're interested. Breakfast is served on the ground floor and is a very good continental offering, with various local cheeses, fruits, cereals and some hot items such as poached eggs and sausages. The coffee is made from whole beans and the orange juice is pressed whenver you need it, so we were very happy with what was available. The spa facilities are also excellent, with an outdoor swimming pool that is heated (I believe) with wonderful views and an indoor area that has a hydrotherapy pool and loungers looking out over the mountains. A sauna, steam room and shower are also available, while a phone is located in the spa so that you can call reception and ask for drinks and snacks to be delivered to you with no service charge (although there is a charge if delivered to your room). The staff are also very helpful, offering recommendations on good restaurants, making bookings on your behalf if required, and also providing you with a complimentary pass that allows you to use the cable car for free and is located only a short 10-15 minute walk away, next to a COOP supermarket which sells sandwiches, salad, fruit, veg and other groceries. All in all, we will definitely return!…
This hotel isn't cheap but overall we had a nice visit after hiking from Morzine. The guy at reception deserves a special mention, he was absolutely brilliant. The spa and outdoor pool are lovely. The room gadgets are a little over the top, bordering on "substance over form" and why there needs to be a glass window between the room and bathroom, I have no idea? The blind didn't fill the whole space so a trip to the loo in the middle of the night lit up the bedroom! Not good in a hotel of this standard. The breakfast was over priced and if we stay again I would not bother, and the breakfast waitress was annoying, she knew our French was limited but insisted on making us feel stupid by babbling on in French and then speaking English. The check out process was too slow.
