My only concern currently is that, walking around the town and hotel, you would not have had a clue that covid exists - no masks in view (apart from on the ski lifts where this is obligatory ) and I was amazed the hotel restaurant still had free-serve salad bar and breakfast buffet. Other hotels have installed-Plexiglass glass dividers in dining areas, and have stopped people movement and buffets ... I would have felt more comfortable with these measures in place.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was included and there was a wide variety to chose from the buffet. We only ate one evening in the hotel which offered a set menu. It was delicious.
Bedrooms were cleaned every morning. One minor thing which would have been nice to have would have been tea or coffee making facilities in the bedroom but it isn't big enough of an issue to reduce the score. I lovely stay in a very quirky little hotel.
Only negative feedback, a French speaking blonde girl receptionist who didn’t seem to want to be there...
My room at the top of the building (35) was very cold at night, I woke up several times, not sure if it needed more insulation. Told the manager and he checked it out. The next night was still freezing in the early hours so I asked for more blankets and was given two extra duvets, which was great and snuggly.
The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided if you left them on the shower floor.
The hotel had a nice homely feel to it, friendly atmosphere and the views? Beautiful.
The waitresses were great and helped with everything they could when food was being served or drinks.
Thanks for the great stay Hotel du Lac and hope to see you again soon
Au revoir!
You get a nice breakfast and if you like the owner of the hotel sells you your ticket for the ski lifts at the hotel, so you don't have to stand in line when you get to the station.
There are a lot of restaurants and shops close to the hotel.
Anyway, we were able to get into the hotel without any problems. They offered to put the bikes in a storage room, but we had them in our car, no need for that.
The room was small but nice, the beds comfy and the shower great. But what really stood out was the breakfast buffet. For a hotel in this price class really top of the class.
Additionally the owners are really bike friendly. No troubles with our 2 dogs :-)
