A visit to the historical village of Gruyere, pitched on a hilltop within a stone's throw of the picturesque Alps and complete with its own medieval castle and surrounding ramparts is a must for any traveller in search of the authentic.. Other features include a small bespoke chocolate manufacture - from bean to finished item - with a 30-minute explanation... More

Our group of 20 people descended on Fleur De Lys after a reservation mix-up at an adjacent restaurant. We were hungry and ready to eat. The restaurant found a table big enough and accommodated us graciously. Our waitress was a bit stressed and impatient at the beginning as she set up the raclette grills. But once the big blocks of... Great location in the heart of Gruyeres. This is a car-free village but the parking is close by, a few steps down the hill. Arrive early or late in the day or you will be lucky to find a parking spot due to day trippers and tour buses. The hotel/restaurant is clean and well-appointed. The room a little dated but... More

Nothing much changed in 3 years since we first stayed in this hotel. Beautiful location, great staff, nice clean rooms, simply marvelous. Definitely the place to stay while visiting the area. And also definitely the place to eat while there - Michel and his two sons are artists of traditional Swiss food.

Ate here as part of a group visit. Menu was traditional Swiss fondue and raclette accompanied by a nice Swiss wine. Dessert was a merengue of fruit and whipped cream. All nicely done, although I'm still not a total fan of fondue. Friendly wait staff and nice interior.

Have been staying at hotel and used the restaurant attached . Food was delicious with my husband having steak with red wine sauce which was recommended on this site and... More

What an enchanting place! When we walked up and topped the hill to look down into the town to see the cobblestone streets with the castle at the top, we were hooked. We are so glad we decided to stay overnight at the Hotel Fleur-de-Lys and spend time in this quaint town. The hotel was great. We looked over the... More

I will forever remember a night spent in Gruyeres, in Le Fleur de Lys. The hotel itself is very quaint and charming. The rooms are lovely and even the floral tiles in the bathroom add to the charm. The best thing about sleeping here is the mountain peace and quiet, charmingly broken by the cow bells. With the window open,... More
