We choosed Hotel Alex for a short stay of two days as it looked decent and the prices where among the lowest ones. And we wanted to try the funny private Alex express funicular also :) It appeared that this wonderful hotel had a lot to offer. We where surprised how friendly was the reception, how clean was the hotel in general, and how beautiful and tasteful was the wellness oasis inside the hotel. And the Alex express was up to our expectations: convenient and funny! We also saw quite rooms to read, other rooms with a lot of games, places to store bicycles, ski, snowboards, to heat shows, etc. The breakfast was generous and served in a nice looking dining room. Overall, we where really happy with this stay and would recommend this hotel to anybody, as it has one of the highest price-quality ratio we ever saw. Have a nice stay!

Hotel Alex is a fantastic friendly sports hotel. We stayed in the winter for skiing. There is a super handy mini-funicular, which brings you up the steep hill to the main cable car to access the downhill ski area. It is private to the hotel and such a novelty! The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing with delicious birchermuseli, fruit and wide selection of bread, cheese etc. There is a brilliant games room with table tennis, air hockey, video games, baby foot and pinball machine. Room had a nice balcony. The hotel has no restaurant for evening meals but the hotel is a 5 or 10 minute walk to lots of restaurants. We’ll be back in the summer for cycling.

Hotel Alex is still run by the owner family. It is a cozy hotel, the rooms are spacious, very clean, simple but pleasantly functional. Nothing is missing. Two highlights: the private spa area with sauna, steam bath, bubble bath and an incredibly special relaxation environment. And the hotel's own little train/lift up to the Torrentbahn valley station. An unbelievable luxury.

The rooms of the Alex are nothing special, a little old fashioned, but they are totally clean. Some of the balconies are pretty large and offer lovely views.

However, the highlight for us, and why we returned for another weekend there, was the new wellness area in the basement. Open from 4-8pm, there are various saunas, showers and a couple of jacuzzi bath tubs. A word of warning though: you do have to be totally naked! But you can borrow bath robes from reception. There are also loungers laid out under Velux windows looking out at the mountains, where you can have a lie down or read in total peace. It's absolute bliss.

The Alex also has its own private funicular, which takes you up near one of the cable car stations and to a promenade level with the centre (saves you walking uphill).

Breakfast is the typical Swiss German thing: breads, ham & cheese, cereals, yoghurts, boiled eggs, fruit - there's quite a bit on offer.

I would and in fact will return to the Alex again.

The Hotel Alex is dated but not threadbare. It is clean and conveniently located near to the ski lift and away from the bustle of centre ville. It even has its own little "cog rail" from the hotel to the promenade that abuts the ski lift. The breakfast is generous and of good quality. There is off-street parking and free Wi-Fi. The view from the balcony of our room was about the best Alpine scene in Europe. Recommended.

It's a old hotel, we book it 1 week before our holiday while the others are full. We got up graded to a room with the mountain view and a big balcony, it wasn't disappointing at all. Breakfast are simple, gym and sauna open till 19:30 and its old too.

We enjoyed the town very much, this hotel is good for its purposes, rest, shower, sleep, not much can be expected.

We really enjoyed our short stay in Leukerbad. Our room (very simple one, but spacious and clean) was in the dependance, which is connected with the cute "seilbahn" Alex Express (I really liked jumping in this cabin and watching the mountains while climbing uphill the slope). Breakfast offers a lot of choice, salty, sweet, with crunchy freshly baked bread, very good. And the spa area was absolutely a surprise: a first class wellness area hidden in the hotel basement, but with amazing view to the mountains from the relaxing lounge, turkish bath and two saunas. If we will have to go back to Leukerbad we will definitely go back to Hotel Alex.

Room was very comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. The spa was a pleasant surprise with everything that Linder had except the water. The breakfast was exceptional with fresh baked breads, cheeses, and an expresso coffee machine. There is a small fitness room and a game room with a ping-pong table. The hotel has its own lift to take you up the hill to the Cable Car, the Linder spa and Hotel Waldhaus Restaurant. The hotel is an excellent value, and Leukerbad is wonderful destination. The water falls and the cows with their bells are an added plus.

Very friendly hotel with helpful staff. Room - with balcony - was a reasonable size, simply furnished and with a good sized bathroom. Breakfast was good. We didn't get chance to use the spa but it looked impressive. We loved the hotels own mini lift to the cable car, the alex express, saving us an uphill struggle with our skis. Free wi-fi and the presence of PC's for guests to use free of charge is a nice touch. The hotel also offered discounted lift and thermal bath tickets.
