Nice Eco lodge in a very good area for wildlife spotting. Accommodation is simple and the food and cooking similar, but good nonetheless. This is not a place for sybarites looking for a luxurious green paradise, haute cuisine and fine wines. However, it is very good for birds and other wildlife. Tirimbina is nearby and La Selva a little further,...

What a beautiful place to stay. From feeders with howler monkeys to feeding stations for the birds. Buffet breakfast & supper was great! Rooms were very efficient. Loved it! I would definitely come back!!

we arrived at this resort as part of a tour group and stayed for two nights. Some of our group had modern rooms that were well equipped and were vey nice. We were not so lucky. Our room was old and dated, with three beds squashed into the room. We drew the curtains and the whole lot fell down. Why...

We stayed 2 nights here on our tour of Costa Rica and had a very comfortable room. There are just 28 rooms which are spacious, clean and cosy, and have hammocks and rocking chairs, also airconditioning. The meals were mostly buffet style and very tasty, and excellent value. We particularly liked the tea and coffee station which was available 24...

You can forgive a lot when the stunning birds congregate at the bird table in such numbers to feed on the fruit that's put out. The gardens are worth walking round too - there's a pool with a caiman in it ! It's a shame that the rooms and service are average; also, while the breakfasts are fine, the buffet...

We spent one night as part of a tour. Our room (34) was nice...very spacious, large bathroom, plenty of outlets, and a veranda facing the river. The grounds include a small butterfly area, a pond with a cayman, and a bird watching area (which was amazing). The food was unremarkable and the service was not friendly. There are 2 small...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was warm and welcoming, but the rooms were old and not very clean. These rooms need an update as soon as possible + some good cleaning (a lot of dust and mold). The food was not that tasty and not really creative. The hotel has some nice gardens were you can spot...

Upon arrival we were told we were the only guests and that our room wasn't ready yet. OK it was little after 12. So we talk a stroll in the notorious garden and spotted lovely birds ,Morpho butterflies in the closed observatory. We saw a room with river view so when back at reception I asked if we could switch...

La Quinta is an oasis in the lowland rainforest near La Selva Biological Station and the Saraqipui River. The gardens and accommodations are beautiful and the service are truly excellent. I’ve visited many times over the last twelve years and each time a new layer of beauty has been added. Oh, and there is fresh coffee before first light!

The location is great and it promises so much, however the quality of the rooms, bathrooms are basic and the buffet food was terrible - very bland and not very imaginative. I know Costa Rica is not known for its food, but after 10days in the country this was definitely the worst we had. We were also invaded by a...
