Well worth a visit, stayed one night, room was lovely, food was good. Swimming pool was good, lovely steam room, staff helpful. Nice grounds, clean and well looked after. Dined in the restaurant in the evening, food was lovely. Not a buffet breakfast, help yourself to cereals/juice, then you order your cooked breakfast

Arrived at the hotel and immediately upgraded as a gesture for our anniversary. Reception staff were a delight, even presenting us with a handwritten card. The room was fabulous, soaked in historic atmosphere. There was a wedding on ( a beautiful affair) which took up the restaurant seating. So we were directed to the bar where a charming and attentive...

We booked a last minute stay on a Dinner bed and Breakfast and we was blown away. From the start the staff are friendly, engaging and very helpful. We asked about changing the room due to personal requirement and they were accommodating. The rooms are huge with a massive comfortable bed, so comfy we did not even use the Health Spa/pool...

Beautiful hotel full of history. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Enjoyed a late dinner in the bar and some delicious Date Toffee Pudding. Breakfast was efficient and well prepared. The grounds were quite lovely.

Stayed here overnight. The hotels location is great nice and peaceful. The staff at the hotel are outstanding. All very helpful and friendly. Never used the Leisure facilities but the rooms are very nice. We got an executive upgrade. The only thing stopping me from giving 5/5 was the shower in the room (38) was awful. Caravan showers are better...

Visited the hotel with my Mum for a spa break. The room was simply stunning and smelt as if it was newly carpeted. Big comfortable bed. Gorgeous furnishings and decor. Our towels and robes weren't in our rooms and we just presumed we could get these at the leisure club but were promptly told by the gentleman there that no...

We stayed in an executive family room. It was clean and very spacious and of a very good standard. The bathroom was large. The leisure facilities were excellent. The pool was large and had plenty of space for the children to play in without bothering swimmers. The sauna and steam room were also fine. We made use of the tennis...

The food on offer on a set menu was excellent. The thing that impressed me most was the piping hot plates it was served on. So many places forget this simple touch. Thank you. The starter haggis neeps and tatties was very innovative. Main course more than superb and the sweet superb

We booked this throughMacDonald's own website which needs a lot of time and patience to use. When we arrived however the staff were helpful and friendly. While the corridors were really quite musty smelling the room was fine. Bit mean with extras so a few teabags ( only two types) uht milk and one tiny pack of biscuits despite this...

Went for the third time after a long gap and was very disappointed. Our room was tatty with a large scratch across the bathroom door and the toilet was not clean. Was treated to a meal in the restaurant - at least that was his intention! The food was lukewarm when it did eventually come and uninspiring. The dish with...
