Booked 4 nights at short notice and were really pleased we did. Couldn't fault anything. We got a very warm welcome when we arrived, had a quick tour of the inn and were then shown to our very comfortable room. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a good bar area, and also a very spacious guest...

We stayed here for 4 nights in February. We were made to feel very welcome with old fashioned curtesy which was very refreshing in this day and age. Nothing was too much trouble and although the only veg my husband eats is peas and sweet corn (which were not on the menu) - the manager cooked some especially for him....

Thankyou so much for your kind review, we are pleased that you appreciate our traditional approach, we do realise it`s not everyone`s cup of tea but those people probably don`t realise that our "old fashioned furniture" is genuinely antique, a result of having a passion for quality and style! So very glad you enjoyed yourselves and we do hope you...

Can't fault the service or the gin and beer. Staff very polite and made us feel very welcome. Food reasonably priced however it seemed the roast was heated up from yesterday. The chips and onion rings from a packet and veg was soggy. It was a shame as I was looking forward to ordering pudding but left after the main...

Obviously we are extremely sorry that your meal was below standard. It is rare for our vegetables to be soggy as we tend to serve them lightly cooked. I have passed this review to the chief who apologises for this very rare slip. As regards the onion rings we are in fact moving over to homemade this week in line...

We recently spent three nights here with our cocker spaniel This is a very dog-friendly hotel and we were able to take her with us to breakfast and dinner - there's a separate dining area for pet owners. Management and staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent - (huge portions) and the...

This was our first visit here but we could not have been made to feel more welcome. There is a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are pleasant and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good home cooked fare with lots of choice even for vegetarians and there is a fish of the day option....

This was our first visit to the lakes and we definitely chose the right place! The room was spacious, warm, clean and had lovely views of the surrounding hills. The staff were incredibly friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the bar had a great selection of ales. Would definitely stay there if visiting the area again

We will have happy memories of our short December stay in a stormy Lake District because we stayed at Middle Ruddings. The welcome was friendly and our bedroom was well-furnished, clean and comfortable. These guys really know their beers and single malts and their enthusiasm is infectious. Food in the restaurant is terrific (especially the lamb) at a very reasonable...
