Love the Peter Rabbit Themed bedroom names. Liz, Allan, Tom and Becky are the most wonderful hosts, the food is top notch down to home made bread and muesli and we love going there we are welcomed like family. Relax in various areas and a quite lounge where you can read. Dog friendly and central to local walk and places...

We had a 3-night break a couple of weeks ago, taking advantage of a deal which included an evening meal each night. Having stayed and eaten there before, we knew what to expect, and were not disappointed. Lovely comfortable room with a fantastic view of Skiddaw with it's first sprinkling of snow when we awoke on the Saturday. The food...

If your a dog lover or you can put up with them then this place is great. If you don't like dogs, don't go! The staff are excellent and helpful and attentive, The food is very good quality and reasonable. The bar is well stocked with good beers, ciders and spirits. Try The One whisky! Rooms are shabby chic, but...

We visited Middle Ruddings as we were staying locally. What a lovely place to spend a few hours eating and drinking (and again the following evening). Made to feel very welcome. Definitely on our radar for another visit.

Stayed just one night as we were meeting friends for dinner here. We received a friendly welcome, shown the bar and dining facilities before going to our room which was very quaint and had a lovely view. It was also warm. As the weather was mild we were able to open the windows at night - big plus! Everywhere was...

Stumbled on this hotel/restaurant/pub after a day's hillwalking and subsequent pitching camp at Lanefoot farm. The chap that served me at the bar (the owner I think) was a delightful fella who clearly knew his real ales and also took a pride in his customer service. The food was excellent "hearty" fayre and the restaurant staff were nice and courteous....

Stayed for one night in midweek. Single room was a little small, but had everything needed, and a really good view of the fells. Friendly and helpful staff. Really good food for evening meal, very tasty platter for starters and then lamb on the bone was very tasty. Very English menu, but nothing wrong with that. A friendly, welcoming place...

Can't complain about the food here but not the best we have had, both had the lamb, mine was fine but my husband's was dry. Staff were lovely. The dining area was nice but music in the background would have made it more inviting.
