We were not staying at the Inn but ate here two successive nights. Restaurant well decorated and settles very comfortable. Menu varied. Food well cooked and plenty of it. Puds excellent. Parking can be difficult if hotel full.

I stayed in the Mary Mount Hotel last year and when I realised this was the sister hotel I though I would give it a go! The location is in a lovely quiet village with a small shop and one other pub! There are regular buses to Keswick from down the road, Keswick only 2 miles away! It is also...

Stayed here for 3 nights bed and breakfast. Food okay, the usual pub grub menu which seems to be duplicated in most pubs these days. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very efficient and friendly. Rooms are very small, booked into room 11 for 2 nights then room 12 for 3rd night. This room was exceptionally small, single wardrobe, don't know how...

We stayed there for one night. The heating was already off, but they supplied a heating just for the night which was quite nice. Staff was friendly. The room is not large but it was newly refurbished. Bathroom very very small, but tide. The food is not so good, and breakfast could be better.

Firstly, we have stayed at this hotel 4 times previously and had a lovely stay. This time we had booked 3 nights at the Coledale and were very much looking forward to it. On arrival we were shown to our room - there were dog faece stains all over the carpet that had not been cleaned. When we mentioned this...

Dear Mrs Pattinson, You have been very economical with the truth and lied in parts. Yes, there was a stain on the carpet when you first entered the room, for which we apologised on numerous occasions. You were given a perfectly suitable alternative for the 3 nights with an option to move back into the room the next day once...

Had a slightly cold greeting, but we put that down to the post-lunch time rush time of our arrival. Bed was tiny as a double, but apart from that, the room was lovely with stunning views over the hills. Food was good and service quick and efficient. When booking, there was a bit of a mix up with available rooms,...

More of a Pub restaurant than hotel, the Jennings Ale was in tip top condition. Went on a busy Saturday evening, we chose Thai Cod & Prawn fishcake, Black pudding, Farmhouse Pate and Soup to start all very nice, for mains slow roasted Lamb, Haddock, Chicken fillet and gammon steak all were reasonable without being special, service was a bit...

From the minute our party of 6 middle aged hill walkers arrived we were made to feel completely at home. A warm welcome and then shown to our rooms. I had a fabulous 2nd floor double with well appointed en suite. Shower was fabulously hot with excellent water pressure. Very comfortable bed and splendid views. Stayed two nights and ate...

A popular pub. Ideal for the Inn Way being twelve miles from Rosthwaite and eleven miles from Buttermere and an excellent base to explore the northern Lakes. A proper walkers pub - good beer, good food and a good nights sleep.
