Brought my family for a holiday here. Check-in was so so. I was attended by a female receptionist upon check-in. Was given a room which was not made up yet. Had to go down to reception again to change my room after bringing up my luggages as room was not made up. This time was attended by a male receptionist who had asked the female receptionist who had earlier checked me in. The answer from her to the colleague “System showed Clean” but no apology given. My wife approached the reception for bell service assistance upon arrival to help with luggage as i had my 80 year old Mother that needed help in walking but was informed no bell service available. The rooms are run down. The only thing that had made our stay enjoyable was the water park which my son enjoyed plus we as adults too had fun. Will consider going back in the future.

While the water park is good enough for the price paid, the same does not go for the accomodations within the park. The apartments are not well maintained from the outside to the inside. The beach next to the park is beautiful during sunset.

This resort has a very enjoyable water theme park for children and even adult but.... what disappointed us is the management of the hotel. We stay for two nights no room service provided only help to change the towels. Poor and dirty breakfast serve, not enough staff to do the clean up and fill the empty food tray... a lot of flies around the table and even at the serving food counter. Slippery floor tiles around the swimming pool cause a lot of children fall down and get hurt while running. Hope the management will look into it and improve the area that suppose to serve better. Hope with next return we can see the improvement.

Don't ever go to Gold Coast Morib Resort to play the water in its water theme park, otherwise you will get skin infection like this! Not only me, my daughter, my mum and my nephew's legs also get this skin infection which make your skin very itchy :S I just spent RM180++ to see the doctor yesterday because of this serious skin infection :( Please share this with your friend and relatives don't let them become the next victims!

I will never come back, and never recommend the place. Apart from the rooms which was spacious and comfortable, there was an awful smell in the air, bad service, the ultimate was the coffee house was full of flies. I have photos to proof.
Be warned ! !

To be fair to the hotel, this resort was only open about a month ago. Only a small part of the resort is opened while construction is still taking place elsewhere. Even the Kopitiam is a MPH turn into cafeteria. But the small water themepark is nice for family with young children. For RM200 for a room nite that include bf and 2 adult entries, I think it is a fair deal. Please note, there is no extra bed even if you are willing to pay. If you are looking for some high-end resort, try Golden Palm. If u just need a short getaway from KL, a small waterpark for kids, beach walking, crab hunting, I would say this is value for money ...for now. Very friendly staff

CONS-

ACCOMMODATION:

- Although we have confirmed the booking, when we reached the hotel at 7pm, the suite is NOT READY and we have to wait for an hour. Never offered us to seat or given any drink while waiting. Sour cold face..no smile..nothing

- Booked 3 bedrooms suite prior to arrival. Was promised by the reservation staff, that we would get a suite with a master room with 1 king bed, 2nd room with 2 single beds & 3rd room with 1 single bed. Was also promised that all 3 bedrooms suite facing the sea and LCD TVs both in the living room & the master room. Nope! Nothing as promised. TOTAL MISLEADING! Where on earth would a master room comes with 02 single beds? LOL! and no LCD tv in the master room.. and the suite faces a parking lot! Great!
I called and spoke to the front office manager. Explained the whole story on how her staff promised this & that but guess what the manager told me?.. Well, maybe her staff gave wrong info and the manager kept on insisted that there is no 3 bedroom suite where the master room comes with a king bed and no sea view as well. I was so furious with everything and decided to change the 3 bedrooms suite to 02 units of Balinese Studio Suite which is much more cheaper and comes with a king bed and the other unit comes with 02 single beds and get a better view of the water park.... LOL! ...another Big mistakes..one after another...

And when I say BIG MISTAKE..this time it means that whatever we sees in their website, everything are total misleading! Why? Coz when I checked with their website, the studio suites looks grand with a four poster beds and the photos in that website looks so nice. But when we checked in... the nightmare starts!

- The door lock is not working, you can lock the door when you are outside but it takes several times to swap the card to open the door. At times, we need to go up & down to the reception counter, just to change the key-card and its annoying. And when you are inside, wallah! You cannot lock the door as there is no extra security lock and the actual lock from the inside is missing!

- In the website, the Balinese Studio suite comes with a four poster bed..but nehhh.. when inquire about this.. the manager specifically informed that there is no such bed and instead all they can offer is the normal king bed. The condition of the room was so lousy. Bed is freaking hard. No extra pillow. One bed equals to 2 pillows only. LCD tv comes with normal channels..no Astro satellite channels. No iron & iron board, No carpet..expect to walk on a cold tile flooring. Hair dryer is missing in the other room.
Jacuzzi is the most hilarious... slow water pressure..you need to wait for almost an hour to fill up the tub!..Water pressure was sooooo slow as well in the shower. The sink was faulty, end up wetting the floor through out the stay..its either you shut the main water supply that is located just beside your main door to the room or end up having a Jacuzzi on the floor as well! Basic toiletries given. Mini fridge is not working and empty. The balcony was too close facing the other room. There is no privacy at all.. you can always see all the 'happenings' on the next room! Gosh!

FOOD:

Breakfast... wowwwww... you do not want to have their breakfast.. Why? It was a total disaster.. I have never been to any hotel's coffee house where the breakfast spread is like being thrown everywhere instead of properly served & prepared. Its like being ransacked! Im so speechless! The food serve was a total mediocre, sad, pathetic & tasteless.. so tasteless that you have to force your self to either swallow it all up or end up hungry later as there is no nearby outside restaurant that you could have a good meal. We totally DO NOT enjoy the breakfast. :(

Dinner... again, its wooooowwwww... funny and hilarious.. my family decided to have a dinner at the hotel restaurant as it is too far to drive to the nearest outside restaurant. Despite of our lousy breakfast experience, we thought that why not.. lets try their dinner. So we went ahead to the coffee house. Being stopped at the cashier counter at the main door. Told the staff that we would like to see the buffet before making decision. One of the staff told me that only one person is allowed to go in. So I left my entire family outside and went in. For MYR41 nett/persons, nothing much was offered but thinking that everyone are hungry..I said ok, lets have our dinner here.. The minute when we wanted to go inside the restaurant, the staff told us to pay our dinner in advance. We have not being seated and they asked us to pay in advance? LOL...Thats does it.. we told them..keep your food, we will spend our money elsewhere. And we've made a wise decision. Next time, head to Banting, look for Pak Li Kopitiam.. the food are amazingly delicious and cheap too! Thank God!

Was told earlier that there are two food & beverage outlets..but when we went to THE PIER.. the so called restaurant by the beach..offered nothing than drinks and sad looking snacks.. no live band performance as mentioned. The staff did not bother to great anyone..they just seat at one of the huts and chat like they are having a holiday there..

SURROUNDING:

- You WILL notice a bad smell comes out from a fertilizer factory that located right across the hotel on the opposite land. Early morning and late in the evening are the worst time for you to sit outside. Even if you close the balcony sliding door, the smell is too thick..the air-cond couldn't filter that filthy smell! So, do not forget to bring an air -freshener along.

The only PRO in this hotel, I would rate the water theme park at 7/10. Great for kids but could get boring for adults as not many are offered except the water-slides.. the washrooms are located at the far end of the theme park.. not enough seats & shades.. not enough safety.. the floor was too slippery..I saw a kid cuts his knee very bad when he had a seriously fall. Not sure what happened to the boy later..

You are asking..did I ever made any complains to all the above.. Yes, I did... BUT THEY COULDN'T CARE LESS...from the staff to the management.. THEY DONT CARE..

My overall conclusion for this stay-

Do not expect very much on the accommodation, food & service..it was a miserable stay and they mislead you.... Despite all that..your kids will enjoy the water theme park.

They proud to say that they are offering 5 stars service & facilities... ahahahahahahahahaha... what a joke..!

Visited the resort during a company trip at end of Oct 2011 with my family. Overall, I was dissappointed.

The only good parts are the big rooms with jacuzzi in bathrooms, the good time we had during telematch organised by the resort. I thought the telematchs were fun and the staff are good.

The major dissappointment were:-
1. There was terrible smell in the air esp outdoor and also inside the room (via airconditioner). After some thought, I realised the cause was that there is a animal feedmill factory just opposite the resort. I thought what a stupid location to build a resort opposite such factory. At times, the smells were unbearable when the wind was not helping in our direction

2. Poor hygiene, with flies all over the place and in restaurant too. At times, I saw the flies on the food and plates. I will always pick food and plates on the bottom. The flies are due to feedmills factory located opposite the resort, and I dont think the problem can be resolved anytime soon unless the factory is shutdown.

3. No Astro and Internet service in room. In addition, no newspaper provided.

4. We have 3 meals in the resort, breakfast, lunch and dinner (all buffet). Breakfast was acceptable while lunch and dinner were just average. On the last day, we had lunch before going home. The foods were the worst esp. prawn and taufu were not fresh. While eating, you need to have one hand holding your spoon and another getting rid of flies.

5. Towel is also not provided at the pool, we have to bring towel from our room.

Overall, there is no excitement and nothing special there. I will not recommend or going back there.

I'm planning to go for an off day (thats what I usually called my holiday since I hardly away from home more than 2 days!), so my friend recommend me to check on Streatdeal.com.my and there goes, I saw an interesting advertisement about this place - Gold Cost Morib. Yes, I bought a voucher to stay on Friday-Saturday, 13-14 July 2012. It was my hubby's birthday, so I bought the voucher for his birthday, thought I can surprise him with a birthday cake and present, as what advertised in the promotion.

The big day arrived - yeah. I've checked in at 4.00 pm in Gold Cost Morib, seeing a big croud, thought that this hotel must done a very good job in sales! Not bad at all. Upon checking in, I was not greeted as how the usual hotel reception always greet the guests, but its ok, they must be very busy since there's many guests arriving, it still ok for me.

Upon entering the room, yeah, seems it still quite empty, with only TV Channel 1, 2, 3, 7 & 8 available for us to enjoy and calling this a short honeymoon, we get a room with two single bed! - maybe I didn't mentioned during my booking, its my fault, its OK, again.

While waiting for the dinner, we just chit chat in our room and finally its dinner time- which I'm looking forward for a romantic dinner with my hubby. About 7.45pm, we went down and there goes the drama! The small restaurant couldn't cope up with the HUGE HUGE amount of people flooding the room, you can see many people standing beside the tables, waiting for their turn to seat, LONG LONG que at the serving area, empty food tray, non organize dishes, ice-cream barrel on the table (its ice cream OK! it suppose to be in the fridge!) and people are rushing for food (don't blame the guests, they pay to eat!) and upon seeing this, I am seriously sure that this wasn't my fault at all! You can imagine how my suppose to be romantic vacation turns to be worse vacation in a lifetime! To cover up my frustration, we decided to go to Bagan Lalang instead, and we enjoyed a better seafood there and of course, we didn't manage to claim the birthday cake and present as advertised, so basically, I just do charity for the hotel!

As for the theme park, I have no comments. We got a free entry to the theme park, but we didn't use it, due to last nite incident!

As for breakfast the next day, they decided to prepare it behind the hotel, near the beach area, just like Malay wedding ceremony! ( I believe they receive many complaints for the night before, then decided to give more space for the guests), and the food, ermmm... you elaborate yourself.

In my opinion, the hotel really earned money from the guests frustration. I can see some other family arguing with the reception, on the same matter! They definitely have made a good sales but they just can't cope with the huge amount of guests arrived.

They should have put some limitation somewhere. The ads in Groupon.com and Streetdeal.com and the hotel website itself can project income, hundred thousands, in facts millions of ringgit, but they should find solution to cater every guests thou! This kind of selfish management should be STOPPED. We are paying money to get a good service, especially when you claim your hotel as a 5 star hotel (huh! no joke ya!) so we as a guest are expecting a 5 star service as well.

Thus, I will not recommend you people to stay here unless they really want to change their management style. Hopeless!

I made an online reservation in July for August. I want to warn others to beware of the misleading statement in their website. They said can CANCEL up to 1 day prior to arrival. I gave my credit card details for a guaranteed confirmation. I have many countless times and never had this bad experience. Theu called me up and said all extra beds taken up as they are reserved for guests who paid up front. The next day I found out my credit cars had been charged for my two rooms for two nights. My grouse is, it was never mentioned that I would be charged immediately! I called n was told I cammot cancel but, "yes, you can cancel to another date so what date you want."!!. The manager who called me said the same thing and could not resolve my grouses despite I mentioned the misleading statement in their website. They never called me back to resolve the matter n I just checked they had taken doen their web pages temporary. I wil give another review after my stay. Just be aware of the charges.
