Our family, (2 parents and three children aged 12, 15, and 17) stayed at Midas Eco-camp for two nights over in Jan 2017. We had a great time and highly recommend it for those interested in a more rustic Kenyan experience. It is an idyllic place where goats and village children often wander threw during the day. Be prepared for...

Stayed 2 nights at the Ecocamp (in the Giriama Hut) and what I can say is that the place is full of serenity. The community is very friendly, educated, speaks a perfect english and the place is just sooo relaxing! The huts are simple, but what else do we really need! The camp is quiet and beautiful, just a stone's...

Been here several times. We always enjoy this place. The view, the nice layout, the soda's, the people... It's a great lodgement if you want to start off early in Arabuko Sokoke forest or onto Mida Creek. Prices are decent too. Do not expect golden tap's and very hot showers, but who needs that being in a paradise ?

The environment is gorgeous. It is a very simple and basic place, nothing fore the comfortable tourist. But you get everything you need! We stayed in the Zanzibar hut which was lovely. Take your time to explore the nature, get in to a canoe and experience the mangroves and the bird life. The staff at the camp are very friendly...

We stayed in the Gariama hut. Simple but comfortable - two double mattresses with nets, a coffee table and bench/couch gave us ample space to sleep and for our stuff. The camp is peaceful and well run by its friendly local staff. Apparently run as an NGO - all proceeds go to paying salaries, and the surrounding community. Camp is...

We had a really nice stay in one of the traditional huts, while fishing and also in the evening when capita in happy prepared fish, crabs ugali, rice veggies and coconut sauce for us. Very recommendable for those who want to get to know local life apart from the hustle for tourists money.

As a female travelling alone, places where you connect with the people, where you don't have to be concerned with safety issues is very important. Mida Creek and this camp is a special place, a place where I could let go. The surroundings of Mangrove beach, friendly Giriama community and local fishermen, the Gedi ruins, are beautiful. Apart from the...

This is really a fabulous place to stay if you like to get away from it all or you like natural beauty & nature. Proceeds from the camp go to community projects & local villagers run it, so this is a place that you must support. I stayed in the Zanzibar hut, which has an open first floor bedroom that...

The Ecocamp has several different types of huts and bugalows to chose from, all built in different Kenyan tribal styles. I stayed in the cheapest and most modest one, the Giriama hut. Is has two double beds with mosquito-nets a table and a sofa. No fan, no electricity, only portable solar lamps. But this goes well with the style of...

We just stayed at the Eco Camp last night in the Swahili Hut - it´s simple but had everything we needed. It´s quite airy with a couple of chairs on the balcony and a huge bed with a good mosquito net! In the afternoon we walked across the boardwalk and took a canoe across the water to get a closer...
