Friendly and welcoming family. Will do anything to help. They anticipated our every need. The room was large, comfortable and clean, and had been tastefully renovated. The breakfast choice was excellent, and as for the evening meals ... They were as pretty as fine dining, but much larger, and absolutely delicious! There is so much to do in the area,...

We stayed here 1 evening while visiting Lacaux II. The hosts were extremily accomodating and anxious to make sure everything was OK for us. English was very good, room was excellent. Room was recently redecorated with new fixtures. Bathroom was great with a fabulous shower. Plenty of hot water, towels, etc. Tea on arrival. Even had BBC World on the...

We stayed here two nights during a bike trip across the region and it was the best place we stayed. The owners provide warm and attentive service, the room was newly decorated with great attention to every detail. We ate dinner there the first night because we were tired but ate there again the second night because the food was...

This was our base for our first four days of visiting sites in the Dordogne. Jean and Laurence were very friendly, even when our baby turned their nice dining room into a rather noiser affair with her enthusiasm. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room three of our four nights because it was excellent quality, it was convenient, and...

This family-run hotel is a must i.e. if you are visiting the caves of Lascaux in the Dordogne, and even if you aren't! We had a very nice large room and had a view of the extensive playground behind the hotel where a couple of chickens (a beautiful unfamiliar breed) were picking in the grass. Chef Jean is a fabulous...

For an overnight stay with 2 kids, this place was just right: warm, friendly welcome; comfortable beds (fold out couch with proper mattress for the youngsters); tea facilities in the bedroom; modern bathroom; excellent food with polite and attentive service. Ask for the "demi-pension" rate if you are eating dinner and breakfast at the hotel as this works out cheaper....

Our stay at Hotel Le Lascaux was outstanding. But what sealed the deal was the quality of the food and service in the dining room. The hotel has been refurbished and is run by Jean and Laurence, a husband and wife team who took over the establishment in 2010. Jean is a chef and Laurence runs front of house. The...

The owner and his wife were very welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful. We had a superior room which was large, very comfortable and kept clean during our five day stay, the menus were reasonably extensive and the food was fantastic - we ate in every evening but went out for breakfast. The...

We had an excellent stop over at this Hotel on our journey, a real oasis of quality and stress relief. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent toddler provision from the wonderfully equiped garden, to the sympathetic attention at meal times. Food excellent. Close to Montignac.

This hotel is a hidden gem in Montignac. The rates are superb for what you get, though I did get a free upgrade because the hotel was relatively empty. Each room is beautifully redone, since it has been under new management in 2010. My room - 3 - had a nice sofa, LCD TV and comfortable double bed with several...
