Booked a room with a balcony overlooking the Mekong river a month before arriving but to our disappointment the air conditioner was not working and so had to move to a room without a view. Would think that someone would check to make sure that everything in the room is working but guess that doesn't happen at that hotel. Some... More

The Old Chiang Khan boutique hotel preserves the wooden row house look while provides modern amenities inside. It locates at almost the right end of the walking street close to the park. The river view rooms has balcony to enjoy the Mekong River. The bathroom is quite small with vinyl mat and sitting toilet with water bucket. So very boutique,... More

This is an old wooden style hotel, accessed from the street which in the evening turns into the walking street whith many stalls selling delicious snacks. The property is right on the river so try and get a riverside balcony room and enjoy a sundowner. It's curious to notice how few lights shine from the Laos side. Breakfast is included... More

Good hotel but not for family room. I came with my friends and stayed in family room. The room is on the opposite of the river and in the car park so it is bad view. I always hear the noise from car and bad old mattress.

Very nice old Thai, but it is a little noises. Lots of good attractions and the river behind. Hard beds for westerners, but pleasant surroundings. Everything you need in your room. Walk up is challenging with big luggage.

A visit to Chiangkhan is a return to the past to recall the forgotten memories of the Thai way of living. The walking street which cuts across the various lanes (Soi in Thai) from Soi 5 to Soi 21 enable visitors to experience this glorious past. The Old Chiangkhan Hotel located in the beginning or the end depend on which... More

The hotel was made from the wood. We could feel like back to the past. Rooms were very clean. Location was just perfect. Two rooms at the back of each floor could get the view of Klong River while two rooms at the front side on the second floors could get the view of the market street. Each room was... More

Downtown well preserved old style Asian boarding house, in the heart of Chiang Khan. The town has been described as a destination for Asians, without the expectations of us pampered Falangs. How right they are ... Well received on arrival with carpark opposite the hotel in a narrow street, full of people and motorcycles. Remember to take off your shoes... More

The Chiangkhan Boutique Hotel is actually more a guest house than hotel, but it is absolutely lovely and authentic. Our guide told us that the house is an old house from the 1800's build for a rich family and still owned by them. Whether this is true or not, I do not know but judging by the style and the... More
