I was on a walking trip and as Montcabrier is on the GR652 route I passed by and stayed one night. I think Atelier du Rose is the best chambre d'hote I met on my trip. Never seen a more charming little village with only...More
My partner and I visited Montcabrier in October for a week. As an artist he found the surroundings and the places we visited very inspiring. We arrived at a perfect time in the autumn when trees were starting to change colour. There were many walks...More

Thank you for your enquiry. There is no air conditioning at Atelier de la Rose because the old stone walls are thick and so keep the rooms cool, provided you do not leave doors and windows open during the day of course! If you are concerned by heat I would recommend you consider coming in September as this month usually does not have the high temperatures in August (which often reach 30° C). The weather is more stable in September : no storms, no heatwaves but long sunny days with luminous skies.
I will add that the heat here is a dry heat and it is often accompanied by a slight breeze, especially as we are situated on the top of a small hill, surrounded by woodland. As I do not know how familier you are with this part of Europe so I will also point out that this region is not as hot as Spain or the Mediterranean coast.
I trust you have found my web site which will give you details about a writer's retreat. Our tariffs are particularly favourable for artists and writers. Please do not hesitate to get back to me for more information.
