Driving through countryside, spotted The pub so popped in for quick bite to eat before heading home. Parking is on the road opposite the pub. All tables were reserved and it was drizzling so couldn't sit in little terrace garden, however the chef was in the bar when we said we hoped to get a bite to eat but could...

Looking for a snack and came across this charming inn. Very pleasant, friendly welcome by Alice. We will come again for a meal, hopefully to set in the garden. A very pretty part of suffolk. Nice to find such a quaint spot and not too busy.

When we arrived there was considerable confusion and delay in ordering our drinks.. We were shown to our table and forgotten about, at every stage of the evening. It took almost an hour to get two coffees at the end of the evening. The food was not good. Clearly microwaved, pre-packaged stuff. The people who work here have no personality...

Went there for Mother's Day. The food was always very good in the past but after Sunday roast this time was dreadful and will not go back. The beef was far to red and tough. After complaining, it was changed but still far to red and bloody. Complaint again and settled in the end for turkey! I wonder if the...

Very friendly staff. Quaint village pub - was a very comfortable room, a good size with bathroom separate but next door. Our bathroom didn't have a fixed showerhead which made it a bit tricky for us but its above a bath, so depends on what you prefer. We snuck a peak in another bathroom and it had a fixed showerhead....

Visited this pub recently with friends for one of our regular meet ups where we like to try different venues in the area. The Peacock Inn at Chelsworth is certainly up there at the top of our list for friendly service, excellent food and a wonderful old world ambience. We had a table in the small dining area right in...

I went here with a large party so we were seated in an area away from the log fires. Unfortunately, the heating wasn't on at first so we had to keep our coats on. When it did come on, it took a while to warm up and then went off again a little while later. We also had to wait...

Undoubtedly this pub is in a superb spot and if you are wanting to experience a 'traditional English pub' then this is the place. And, on a cold winters day the open fire is a real pleasure. However, on our third visit here with good friends (we had recommended this place highly) we thought that the food was distinctly average....

Varied choice including a chalk board for specials: food first class as always but a bit of a delay in serving desserts. Is that to make you drink more? Otherwise recommended when tourist season is quiet
