We spend 3 days in this hidden gem, and coming from busy/hectic Coron town this place was an oasis. Excellent kiting as we were lucky to have wind at the end of the season. Arthur the kite instructur was always ready to help on and off the water and maximize kitesurfing time (even a quick session at sunrise before we...

It's a pity that I had to fly to Manila on the day you arrived. I would have loved to join you on the water – although as a windsurfer and not as a kiter. We try to improve the comfort for our guests by installing later this summer air-condition after being finally connected to the public electric system. Thank...

What a wonderful week spent with Victoria, Ulrich and all their friendly staff. We were lucky : wind all the week (even in april , supposed to be the end of the wind season), so we could kite alone in Victoria's beach lagoon and go upwind to the other fantastic lagoon just above north. 3 days with around 25 knots...

For kite surfers who like a quiet, uncrowded resort to just concentrate on their sport, eat good food, and relax the rest of their time in very beautiful accomodation. The landscaping is well done with flowers and plants. The staff is professional and very nice. We had pleasure meeting Ulrich & Victoria. Don't miss Victoria's famous burger! The Anino Resort...

Stayed for 2 weeks in Feb., mostly in the Palawan cottage (PHP 3,200) with the last few nights in the Hill Top Room (PHP 2,500) which is more of an overflow, emergency, room when everywhere else is full. Did have a look at the Swiss cottage and while lovely and spacious, am not sure it's worth double the cost of...

The retreat is set in a very nice beach. It's quite isolated so not crowded. There are several types of accommodation. The bungalows are large and have a beautiful traditional architecture and are facing the ocean. The food prepares by Victoria is really good, enough quantity, tasty and changes everyday. Victoria does her best so everyone feel well. The local...

We arrived from Puerto on the new Air Juan flight from Puerto Princesa and were met by the most helpful and kind staff. We were spirited away and a tall cool mango shake awaited us. We checked in , finished the formalities and were escorted to the most beautiful bungalow I have seen since Bali in the 80's Gorgeous outdoor...

We took the ferry from Iloilo because it was shorter (12-hrs) compared to Palawan (18-hrs) on good weather. Iloilo also has international airport with direct flight to Singapore so it was convenient. We traveled on amihan season and the long ferry ride made me a bit uncomfortable (seasick) but the moment we arrived in Anino it was like paradise. Very...

Those that are lucky enough to stay here will have an excellent time! The staff are friendly, the food is awesome, & the proximity to the beach is about 20 steps! For kiters - wind is cross shore, it is right on your door step (very handy, especially for lunch), it is a bit shallow at low tide, bring booties...

If you want an exclusive place to stay. Without hundreds of other tourists with your own private beach and wonderfull house right at the beach. Go to quijano! Victoria is the best host you can wish for. She is a wonderful cook and a very nice person. Cuyo itself is a wonderful place. Beautiful island. Nice and windy, nice people....

My wife and I spent two weeks in March 2012 kitesurfing on Cuyo. The ferry rides to and from Cuyo were long, 21 hrs outbound due to weather, 18 hrs inbound due to delays. We travelled direct from Alberta, Canada so 48hrs door to door, next time we will stop in Puerto Princessa (we stopped on the way back and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Anino Retreat - formerly known as Quijano Windsurfing Retreat - is a small boutique resort located at the very quiet Victoria Beach in Magsaysay on Cuyo Island in Palawan. With onshore wind slightly from the left side, it is the perfect spot for kiters for beginners and professionals and 100% safe and secure. You can kite inside the lagoon in breast deep water or outside the reef in the waves. Certainly one of the best spots for kite boarding / kite surfing in the Philippines. Cuyo island is secluded and quiet, and surrounded by pleasant beaches. The Anino Retreat is located at a beautiful sand beach lined with coconut palm trees at the foot of small hill covered with trees. The Lucbuan Marine Protected Area (MPA) is located in front of the Anino Retreat. A great place for snorkelling and a great place to spend your vacation - the place where you want to spend your honeymoon. ... more   less
